Looking for recommendations..in your opinion of what's the best compact glass for the money? Looking to mount on 25 dreamtac compact. Currently using the sniper 3-12×40 good glass but poi moves with magnification change

Athlon is making a midas btr 1-6x24
i have the vortex crossfire 1-4x24 on mine but i Think the athlon is a better scope.

Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42. Wouldn’t call it the best compact for the money, but a reasonable value at 1600.imo. especially good in low light.

What about a Burris 4.5-14x32 timberline? I think that is the spec. I had one on my career mkii. Extremely nice glass.

Check out discovery compact ffp scope it's 9ninches long and less than a lb. and even Veyron From vector optics both are on the similar scale and bang for buck list and more compact than anything else you can find on the market. Make sure they are the ffp versions. Plan for around a 200 budget with these ones.

While probably not on everyone's "Best Optics" list, I recently bought my first UTG scope. It's a Leapers UTG 3-12x44 AO Rifle Scope, EZ-TAP, Ill. Mil-Dot Reticle, 1/4 MOA, 30mm Tube, Weaver Rings. It is a compact scope, length wise. It has an etched glass reticle and the glass is very clear. It has the EZ-TAP 2 button system for a red or green light reticle, very nice against dark targets. Comes with 30mm weaver rings that are pretty good. So far I'd say it is comparable to my Hawke's.
Note to original poster: I actually bought it for a Benjamin Steel Eagle. On that rifle the picatinny rail starts too far forward on the receiver to be able to slide the scope backwards to get the proper eye relief. Being a compact scope you are not able to slide it front and back in the rings like a regular scope that has some tube length to accomplish that. Since I had a set of BKL 30mm dovetail rings, I ended up putting it on my R1 and really like it.

I think u need to specify what your budget is..I have optics from low line Hawkes to higher end NIGHTFORCE. But to be fair you certainly can't compare the two.

I would steer away from the UTG Accushot and Hawke Airmax scopes as the Ocular fast focus eyepiece got loose on both of these scopes. It required me to do this if I wanted to keep using them.

I picked up this Leupold 3-9x33 EFR for around $280 (shown on Wildcat 30). Lightweight with good glass, parallax to 10yd.

A decent compact SFP scope I like is the Athlon Argos 3-12x40. Can be had with a mildot reticle and mil turrets, and side focus down to 10Y. It has upgraded glass for the price and acceptable build quality.
I had a Athlon Midas 1-6, it was an excellent scope! It was sent to me to review and I was very impressed.

I agree with RJ, I have two of the Tac Vectors and one Discovery in 3-12 FFP. great for the $$$. Discovery also makes a 4-16 compact. I just ordered two of these with SFP from Airgunarchery that he had marked down. In case you haven't seen it, Joe did a review on the Tac Vector Veyron a while back if you're interested.
