"best" bullpup

It seems to me that looks are in the eye of the beer holder so we will not consider looks. On the basis of handling weight accuracy dependability what is the "best" bullpup UNDER $2k? I am not interested in a gun with a fixed magazine like Kuben. Excellent trigger desired and must have the ability to accept a silencer.

First bullpup that comes to mind when mentioning an excellent trigger is a Taipan Veteran. Quiet, nice trigger, cost is under $2k, removable mags, they take moderators (silencers), and have some nice upgrades like a speed dialer to hell help with tuning. Nice looking stocks too. They come in short, regular, and long barrel lengths. Take a look https://www.airgunnation.com/topic/quietest-airgun-taipan/

Looks like they’re on sale from one of the AGN sponsors Talon Tunes https://talontunes.com/product-category/high-power-airguns/taipan-air-guns/

I am in no way affiliated with this company and I’ve read good and bad reviews from AGN members based upon their interactions with someone at the company. Do your homework here.

Jeff, I have a Taipan Veteran Standard in .22, and I recommend it; accurate, tank tough, great trigger, and the best anti-double load magazine out there. It comes with a very effective moderator, but you can attach an additional silencer if desired (not needed, it's very quiet). The only potential issue that comes to mind is weight, it's heavy. But, I have a torn rotator cuff and I manage with it. And the weight is good when using shooting sticks or a bipod.

The cocking lever location turned out to be perfect for me. When using a bipod or sticks, I reach over with my left hand to cock, so my right hand never leaves the shooting position. And since I have a torn right rotator cuff, moving the right shoulder as little as possible is always good. Might sound odd, but for me, perfect. I'll add, it seems that most folks who balk at the lever placement, have never used it.

In no particular order

taipan

uragan

vulcan

cricket

i think any of them will fit your list, the Uragan, vulcan3 and cricket tac can be had with a bottle for increased shot count or power. I have at shot a taipan, only held one but most people say it’s one of the best triggers. I know a few members on here can setup the Uragan to be fantastic too.

I've not shot any other bullpups except the huben k1, but my taipan (mutant, i got mine right before the vets came out) is 100% rock solid dependable and extremely accurate.

My only complaint is the cold metal to cheek, but that was solved with $3 in rubber grip tape and a few minutes cutting it out. I tried one of the 3d printed pieces from papa yoshi, but I prefer the grip tape more.

The 3d printed mag holders are the best tho - be sure to get some of those!

+1 for taipan!

My first "real" PCP was a taipan standard in 25 and like a dumba$$ I sold it. Quiet, great trigger, and I could shoot 4 magazines (40 shots) before it needed air, but they are on the heavy side. I found a taipan 25 long here in the classifieds and bought it over a year ago and it is sweet!!!!! I do like the FX wildcat also, I have a 25 compact wildcat MK2 for my truck gun, or when I get out and walk while hunting. The trigger is not as good as the taipan (Not bad just not as good) and I only get 3 magazines (24 shots) before refill. I put a Tatsu moderator on it. Very light easy to carry rifle and accurate.

Not sure where you are located, but if you are near San Diego feel free to contact me and you can shoot them.

For me the best bullpups are the Edgun Lelya and Uragan. The Uragan has a better trigger than the Edgun but that's not to say the Edgun's is bad. I've never missed a shot or shot a bad group that could be blamed on the trigger. Also both have the cocking lever in, at least in my opinion, the correct place for a bullpup. Being able to reload the rifle without moving my head up and lose my cheek weld is important. It makes for fast followup shots and less overall movement if you're hunting or pesting.
