looking for a budget friendly scope for new .25 marauder. Looking at the lower end hawke's and centerpoint's. Something I can shoot close distance and out to 100yds. Thanks in advance!

Wally world has the Centerpoint 4-16X44 side focus scopes on clearance for $75 and free shipping. They work very well. I have 3 on various PCPs. BTW they have the wrong picture on the ad. The actual scope does not have lighted reticles and it's the newer brand.

I picked up a SNIPER, off amazon was 65.00shipped, probably the same as the centerpoint. I has a front AO, rather than the side. It's heavy, but very clear. It offers 6 mildots. Another choice is 6X21 Simmons, It's at least 1/2 the weight of the 4X16's, and offers 4 mildots. It can be priced from 80'-140's .Both have sort of thick reticles, compared to higher end scopes.

I have both 30mm and 1" tubes, and the 30's are a brighter picture. I would suggest that you try medium rings first (i think that's what the CP comes with). You want to try to keep the scope objective as tight to the barrel as possible/comfortable for better cheek weld and less hold over/under at ranges other than where it is zeroed.

I use a Hawke 2.5-10X 44 side focus Varmint scope. It has mil and half mil dots and will focus down to 10 yards. I paid around $165 off Amazon about a year and a half ago. Its a Chinese scope but pretty good quality for the price.
