Benjamin ReCharge Compressor

The compressor is still going strong after multiple uses and even a trip to the PA Cup. Let me tell you, it is nice to be able to bring a compressor of this speed along for a competitive shoot. Especially when you have many airgunners looking for air to fill those larger caliber airguns.

Thought I would do a quick video of a filter change to keep you posted on how this compressor is doing and allow a closer look under the hood.

@Airgun-Advisor How's that Benjamin Recharge compressor holding up? After a couple of years so, do you value your purchase or would you have bought a different compressor knowing what you know now? If you no longer have it, what issues did you encounter and what prompted you to get rid of it? Did you have to utilize the warranty for any type of parts or service? If so, how was the warranty process? I'm interested to hear a long term review on this compressor.

I no longer have the compressor as I was able to review both the Daystate type 2 and Alkin Vertical compressor. I still have bit of the aforementioned compressors and both are great options.

As for the recharge I would buy it if you are filling the smaller benjamin tanks or Airguns directly. I feel that for large tanks it works but may not last as long. You can hear the compressor working a bit harder from 4200 psi up. For small tanks it is working in this zone for only a small period of time. Unlike with large tanks where it stays in this range for longer periods of time and “possibly” more wear during this extended time. Given I am filling my tank fairly regularly now with reviews, I want something more shop size that can handle a greater load. For most Airgunners, the recharge would be sufficient.

The person who purchased it has another ReCharge and wanted a second. So they like theirs too.

Hope this helps.

@Airgun-Advisor Thank you for responding. At the moment I'm looking for something to top off a 74cuft SCBA tank generally from 2900 to 4500 psi. I'm currently weighing my options between an entry level model like the Recharge and smaller breathing-air compressors. This would be for personal use. As for use time I'm thinking something used to top off the tank 1-2x per week. Considering that I'm not a small engine repair type, I desire something I can learn on (maintenance and repairs) before purchasing a more expensive model. What do you anticipate going wrong or failing on the Benjamin Recharge using it to top off larger tanks?

As for parts going wrong, I don’t anticipate anything specific. It would be similar to maintaining a yong heng compressor. The advantage of the ReCharge is the all in one package for cooling.

I would also take a look at the Omega Compressors in this price range. Although no personal experience I have heard good things as well. Just to muddy the water a bit.

@Airgun-Advisor To answer your question from the "Manuals" forum, I did not order one. In my search I came across the manual and noticed that it was not posted on AGN so I posted it. Sooner or later someone will come looking for it. From my observation Crossman doesn't always leave links to older manuals on their site. I've noticed it's more likely to happen after the release of updated or discontinued models of certain products.
