I have a Maximus but it’s only shooting 750 to 800 FPS would like to get 850 to 950 FPS trying to adjust hammer spring but when I added the screw to back of spring then added set screw the bolt wouldn’t cock and that’s without screwing it in help please

Make sure you did the reassembly correct. I tore my Maximus down completely trying to find a bad o-ring (air leak) and when I first reassembled the bolt wouldn't cock. The only explanation was that I didn't do it correctly. So when I did it the second time, I made sure that everything was the way it was supposed to be and it worked fine.
About the only thing I remember is that the sear needs to be in the down (completely recessed) position when putting things back together otherwise the hammer will get bound up or won't move freely.

Ok sorry it took so long to get back. It works but there’s always a but . 872 FPS with 14.3 Crosman but shot count drops off after 20 shot so I removed the screw then I only got 2 shots off before getting called out to work but both shots were 832 hopefully will stay there thanks again.

~830 fps is a good speed, at least for my Maximus. I get 825 fps with Crosman HP 14.3 g and it is very accurate. Even after a winter of almost no shooting it still drops pests in their tracks. The shot count drops off to 775 after 20 shots but that's no big deal to me.

Ok got to shoot again shoot #1 835fps sot #9 856 shot 25 803 not bad but this is my first pcp cannot wait for the new Fx dream line To come out I think I’m hooked

Those numbers should provide a lot of punch and accuracy with your Maximus. It could be a keeper even after you step up.
