Benjamin Maximus. 22

This is my first air rifle I've ever owned. Today was only the 2nd time I've shot it. Got to say I love it so far! Wanted to take it out to 50 yds, but ran out of time, and there was such a stiff wind from left to right. Still in the pellet preference stage. So far it looks like she likes the Beeman Devastator 16.36 pointed hollow points. This was my best 5 rd. group at 40 yds . .512"

Of course I've tried the Crossmans. Both hollow point and domed 14.3. Also shot H&N Barracuda Hunter Extreme 18.3. JSB jumbo Diablo 15.89, which she also likes. Those Beeman 16.36 grain seem to do the best. Only shot at 20, 30, and 40 yds so far. Best group with the Beemans at 20 yds was .313" This is a pure small game hunter for me. If you have pellet recommendations, let me know.

"addertooth"I shoot the 14.66 grain H&N Field Target Trophy pellets in the Maximus at about 860 feet per second. Out to 50 yards, I would have no problem shooting small game with it.
It is around a 23-24 Foot Pounds Energy rifle. For bigger stuff I use a Marauder .25 or a Benjamin Bulldog .357 air rifle.
I don't have a chrony, so I don't know what the JSB's, and Beemans around 16 grains shoot at? Now I'm gonna have to try those H&N Field target trophy's. Thanks for spending more of my money addertooth. Lol!

"JimNM"Nice gun for an easy entry to PCP. The road from here only gets better. My avatar picture is a three shot group from 30 yards, open sights, from a bag. That gun is .177. the maximus is a better gun than I am a shooter.
Yes. It's also a better shooter than I am . What I don't like is the smooth buttpad. It's slips around too easy on my shoulder. I'm going to get a slip on rubber buttpad, which is ridiculous on a rifle with zero recoil.
