Just a quick note/review on this rifle.  I bought the Fortitude as a way to get my Son into PCP air rifles and didn't want to spend a lot of money in case he didn't take to it.  He's a young adult and loves his powder burners ( as do I).  Anyway, I received it last week and we have been shooting non stop the past few days getting ready for squirrel season.  Best 299.00 I have spent in a long while.  I bought the Baker upgraded trigger for it which arrived yesterday and he said he had no use for it as he liked the stock trigger.  Well, that's alright because I like the rifle enough that I just put in an order for another one for myself and will put in the upgraded trigger in mine.

Pros:  light, accurate, decent trigger, 60 usable shots in .22.

Cons: The only con I found was that the stock feels cheaply made.

For anyone on the fence, I hope this helps with the decision.

              Luck!

So they are available now ?    I am supposed to be notified when PA has them in stock.

Been wanting to buy one for a long time.

I just looked and they have one in stock.    I also got mine from PA.  I wander if their emails are going to your spam folder.

    This is great info. Thanks.

Any insight on how far it will shoot effectively?

Mine shoots pretty good with Walmart pellets .22 caliber from Crosman. Shoots under .75 groups at 30 yards with no wind.. budget gun for pest control about it.

I only shoot groups when sighting in as I like to shoot free hand or off my shooting sticks.  After reading this I went out and shot a few groups at 40 yards using my bench and sand bags.  Polymag shorts shot just under 1" groups and JSB Hades shot .75 very consistently.  I'm sure there are pellets out there that will shoot more accurate but since I'm hunting with it I'm sticking with the Hades as it is grouping minute of squirrel.

I still need to test pellets and get a better trigger in mine.

    Matt,

I should have my fortitude early next week.  Will put the baker trigger in it and let you know if it improves it.

I recently picked up a Fortitude in .177 what a step up from big box store springers it seems to like crosman 7.9 domed HP at 20 yds I zeroed the scope and first shot cut this card in half,  tried at 40 yds and caught the card about half way in tried another 9 shots but just hit to the left and right.. maybe tomorrow 🤔 . And with crosman 10.5 domed HP it will hit a 3 inch spinner with regularity at 70 yds.

This is one of those guns that a lot of folk were waiting on, & I reckon (like me) just forgot they were coming….one day.

Thanks for sharing. Great info. Glad it’s working out for you.

@oldsarge3319 Did you get to Chrony those JSBs 10.34s ?

I need to buy a chronograph, I had about 10 shots on a fresh fill and have about 700 rounds through it. Unfortunately I was in such a rush when I bought it I forgot to get pellets so all of the pellets have been crosman locally purchased and I'm so happy with the results I have yet to try another brand..

Appreciate your comments but I am shooting with a bipod so it's not all my skills

Mine was shipped on Friday received on Saturday  from pyramid air . Ohio to West Virginia two days not bad! thank you Ruth @ PA  I also have been waiting a very long time seems like over six months .  So here's what I think about the Benjamin Fortitude ðŸ‘ðŸ» For a gun that only cost $299 made in America! Get over 60 good shots! Very accurate at 25 to 35 yards!!  Maybe further   I love it . When I first got it I shot 50 rounds to make sure it was working OK  and it was ! So the first thing I did was adjust the trigger  as to Airgun Depot YouTube video( replace trigger spring and adjusted sear Spring  )that all . Then switched out the stock with the disco stock that I had  (pictures below )  then I went shooting maybe 250 rounds of pellets Crossman 7.9 g /JSB match 7.87 g and JSB  EXACT 8.44   But JSB 7.87 we're the best for me the 25 yards one hole & @ 35 yards less than a half inch  ran out of daylight so I couldn't  shoot any further  ! One thing about the JSB match Diabolo 8.44  did not fit the magazine all that well seemed that the skirt was a little wide some I had to push-them in Mag ? But  were very accurate . My Fortutude is shooting at about 850 ft./s  in .177  ( see picture below )  it is backyard friendly but not quiet , sounds somewhat like a cap gun not bad but not  super quite  as far as the gun goes the bluing looks great , breach nice  all but the air tube is a little bit off . Also the bolt is a little bit  stiff seems like the hammer could be polished  I also don't think I would pay for a new trigger of any sort / adjust the one you have I don't think  it's worth  putting the extra money in it , once you adjust it it's  fairly good👌  all things considered great  airgun

I finally got my Baker metal trigger installed.  I could have gone Crowmans route and just adjusted the plastic trigger but decided it was worth it to me to have a metal trigger.  The kit came with a lighter spring and two screws for trigger travel.  Was able to install in about 5 minutes and am very happy with the results.  Trigger is breaking around 2 to 2 1/2 pounds using the "rustynuts trigger guage" which may not be accurate but it's all I have at the moment.  Overall, if I had to do it over I would still buy the Baker trigger.

I got the baker trigger installed and tuned, its 100000 times better than Crosman’s trigger. I don’t have a gauge but I’d say 1-2 lb trigger pull now. I also got a Hill hammer spring and I upped the power a little bit. Now my groups at 20 yards and 30 yards are well under .75” 20 yards is usually one hole now. This is with crappy Walmart pellets too. I’ll have to test to 50 yards to see if it holds groups still.

    Matt,

I didn't know there was an after market hammer spring, can you provide any info on the Hill hammer spring…where to buy and how was the install.  I'm very interested.  Thanks!

I got the spring on eBay, I attached a pic so you can search it. The install was very easy just need to remove three screws take the old spring out and install this one. Once you get the action out of the stock remove the screw that holds the trigger block in the rear near the end cap, then just remove the two screws from the breach near the end cap and it’ll come right off. Hope this helps.
