Benjamin Foritude .177 or .22?

Flash is more power, less shot count, louder and don't care for the fill probe plus I already have the Urban. Looked at Gauntlet but don't like the look of the bottle / cover, short length of pull and no shroud support. So the Fortitude, cheap, quiet, 20ish fpe, high shot ct, foster fitting and its sleak look puts it at the top of my llst. Just which cal.. guess w/out a review I won't know for a few weeks..

Gauntlet, Umarex, not a fan. Their products,...... don't care for them, they seem chinese'ish. Not sure how else to put it.
I want power (Flash), I want shot count (Fortitude). Agreed, need some reviews on the Fortitude. Concerned about power since Benjamin always greatly exaggerates theirs, Hatsan is damn near spot on. The reviews that I have watched thus far on the Flash, are all solid. Is in fact super quiet, with a choked barrel, out shoots the Gauntlet hands down.

I smoked two adult woodchucks today with my S410f TDR 22 with well placed head shots, from a range of 20 and 30 yards.
I chrono'd the JSB 18gr pellets at 860fps and nearly 900fps for the 15.89 gr. Also got a pigeon at 97 yds today.

My AA rifle is unregulated. It is super loud in plain barrel configuration. I have a DonnyFL Sumo suppressor on it and it is super quiet. He sells an adapter for the Benjamin Discovery/Maximus as well as adapters for all kinds of other guns if needed.

If you're just going after small critters, I'd say the 177 would be more than sufficient.

Irish,

Get which ever you like, stop on b y and their is NO chance your rifle will out shoot the .177 Gauntlet we have in the House, period. Could be as good I reckon but it will NOT outshoot the Gauntlet.
NEED a barrel band ( most airguns do not, just the owners) stay away from many top end rifles ( Thomas, Theoben etal. , and yes thier in a different league but NO barrel bands needed).
Your really going to take a 10 shot ( tops ) rifle, install a regulator and hunt? That will work and if the tinkering and extra $$ is fun it sounds like fun the me, as soon as a reg comes out for it if it does. Not a lot of regs for rifle with such a shot count.

Crosman says max fps in .22 is 800fps, I'l bet that number is very close, and not using a heavy ( say 18g) pellet.

For your stated use there are many airguns to choose from, not just the lastest greatest unobtainium - hear they just started shipping the Flash from a sporting good s place thjo ???) .
Jump into the used market at that price and you could move way up the food chain so to speak. Used might well be best for anyone on a budget esp. with the recent airgun trends.

If your accustomed to installing regs & such, or look forward to learning, go that way. For 99% of newer people a rifle with a regulator from the factory might be a more fun and efficient way to go.

Plinking, paper & small sthuff out to 50 ( 70 if your a decent shot ) .177 is just fine and there are SO many pellets to a tin.

Naturally the very best way to decide is to get with other airgunners and shoot theirs, anyone near 99109 is always welcome touse whatever is in the house at that time and many other airgun folks are the same.

You can get a Flash headed your way today!
You can get a fortitude, sometime.
Wanna shoot a new airgun next weekend? Or ?

Might be good to get the flash, the first ones to hit the used market ( should you decide to sell) may sell for a $ more than is 6 more months.

Accurate, light, high shot count, and very low deviation. Seems like the gun will except some of those aftermarket goodies the older 13xx /22xx guns accept. All you 13xx/22xx owners probably already know how to fix up that trigger. I've heard the MRod 1st gen trigger group will swap over. I like it He's right would get alot of trigger time in the field with how light it is, or for a smaller person or first gun...

Also Great vid... I was surprised the Crosman domes pretty much grouped the worst. Although the 177 might be the better caliber for that gun.
