So I was trying to think of an idea on how to keep my bolt from “jumping” after each shot on the Disco and one of my ideas is putting one of those strong neodymium magnets near the bottom of the bolt handle notch to keep it locked down. Well the more I think about it…would a 1″X1/2″ neodymium magnet placed around the hammer tube help with hammer bounce? Assuming the hammer is magnetic of course. Basically the magnet would be placed at the area where the hammer strikes the valve letting it pass through for the initial valve strike and catching it when it bounces off of the valve stem.

You could try it and find out out if it makes any difference. Seems like it might slow the hammer down on the forward travel too.

I thought it would slow it down as well ,but may possibly sling shot it faster too…

Others have done this to keep the bolt from popping up…I’ve never had that issue with either one of mine.  My thoughts too on the magnet that it might slow the hammer down going forward depending on strength…worth a shot tho.

Seems the magnet trick (denounce) has been tried already. I thought I was on to something…oh well.

On a slightly different topic…My FX Royale has a hammer that floats around when the hammer isn’t cocked. I assume this is FX solution to the hammer bounce phenomenon and wonder why I couldn’t implement the same “floating” hammer to the Disco by adding a shorter heavier spring?

Check out the SSG!! Would be your best method to stop bounce in a disco. http://airgunnation.dev/topic/ssg-tuning/
