Benjamin Bulldog or Hatsan Bully in .45

Hey guys - I'm looking at getting my first big bore pcp and have been looking at the Hatsan Bully in .45 and the Benjamin Bulldog in .357 I've been researching them for a few months now and it basically is a tie for me. I'd like to hear some real world good and bad from air gunners that have had or used either of these big bore rifles. Knowing myself I will probably end up with both at some point in time lol

Buldog all day long after tuning and mods it is hitting over 355fpe on a 3800psi fill with slugs in 160gWM.

I one piece air tank from Pitbull, Then had them custom machine the aluminum end cap instead of switching over to the air bow end cap.
Allows me to utilize the factory QC. If you want to put a Huma in you have to go to the airbow end cap, (the huma has to fill from the front). I have this setup working great for me, I usually air it 3200 to 3500psi depending on slug I am utilizing. 187g spitzer I set at 3800.

Had the exact same problem - I ended up going with the Bully because in MA you need .40 or greater for deer. I'd love to have both and even though, I agree with many who commented above - the bulldog seems like the "safer" or better "out of the box" buy - I litteraly love to shoot airguns because of the joy of tuning them... not sole reason but a huge reason. I have an FX streamline and a Gen2 Marauder in .22 and a Kral PB in .22 - if I had to give up one or two with no monetary benefit in return, I would DEFINITELY still give up my FX first then my Marauder then my Kral which is the order from most expensive to least. The least expensive to the most expensive is the order of which I enjoy the most and the order of which shoot the best - I've modified the Kral and Benj but its an emotional investment more than anything that I value.

that long rant being said - I'm excited to take a carbon fiber 500cc Bully up to 450ft lbs that no one has seemed to do yet and couldn't care less if I made a bulldog shoot 250ft lbs just like hundreds of other people have on the forums. It's the POTENTIAL of hte BULLY that intrigues me more than anything. Power isn't everything but when you have a (3) .22's that are shooting dimes at 50 and quarters at 150, why not build something that turn a cinder block into mist, haha. The Bully has way more potential than the Bulldog, doesn't mean it's the right gun for you and not saying I wouldn't buy a bulldog for my next gun, just thought I'd share a rant after a few glasses. Cheers and keep us updated, I'll do the same as I start to tune.
