Benjamin Akela Regulator

I recently installed an Altaros Reg in my Origin and would now like to do the same for my Akela. Has anyone done this before? I've emailed Altaros and they do not have a unit that is the diameter of the air tube 30mm ID similar to the one used for the Origin (19mm ID) conversion. Just thought I'd see if anyone on here has performed this mod. Thanks for any feedback.

The Akela Kratos Cayden don't NEED regulators since they are consistent as-is since they're engineered extremely well unlike such guns as the Walther Reign 4 example that really needs it.

Just an added item like a cancer to go bad sooner or later that's gonna need chemotherapy.

I have the Cayden, and I agree with odoyle in that , the Cayden is very consistent. Being sincere in my question, and not condescending, I'm curious as to why you would want to add a regulator to a already consistent airgun? and the benefits of doing so?

I am not enjoying the same results with my Akela, it steadily declines each shot in velocity which creates POI shift with diminishing velocities. I have no problem with monkeying with these devices and have found regs to be beneficial in my experience. My Akela is bone stock and has no "knee" to speak of, it starts at 950 and drops steadily to 840 after 40 shots.

Of course the JSB 18's are the go to, but it like NSA 217 20.2's as well until they start slowing down after a mag.

Other findings I question is the "restrictor plate' threaded into the valve block and the short throw of the poppet in the valve which doesn't seem to lend itself to much dwell.... I dunno if that helps or hurts; just wanting to improve an impressively beautiful gun which I don't have FX or Edgun money invested in.

Huma-air did create the regulator for the Akela. Did you purchase it and if-so, did you have any issues with taking the air tube out of the action?

Thanks,

Very easy to remove. Since the gun was designed un regulated you'll likely need to reduce hammer weight and make adjustments in the spring area for any kind of efficiency though. Way to heavy of a hammer for a regged set up.
