Hey guys I have a gun I am trying to bring back to life for my dad. It's his first airgun ever he got when he was very young. Anyway the barrel is separated from the pump tube and I am trying to bring it back to the factory new look. I was told to use jb weld but after talking to my dad he just doesn't want it done that way. He wants to have the silver solder look. Now I was advised to do jb weld because heat can melt the seal in the tube but considering that I need to do a full rebuild couldn't I remove all the internals and simply do the torch soldering method? Anyway my question to you guys is what exact type of solder and Flux should I use and what techniques do you recommend? I have done copper pipe before but brass is new to me. Also would brazing be a better method? Thanks again guys he wants this gun to look as much like the day he opened it under the tree as possible so any info would be appreciated thanks.
