Benchrest Experts

Happy New Years,

I am looking for someone who has insight on running a benchrest competition. Many of you may know that Crosman Corp runs a phenomenal FT competition every July here in upstate NY. With some "professional" insight my contact there says that an "extreme benchrest" type competition is very do-able. Any help, any information, any contact info would be greatly appreciated. My contact at Crosman has reached out to a few people with little success.

Micheal and Steve this might be a chance to get you guys here for some awesome pigeon control as well as some more video content for your pages.

Thank you all,

Garry

Just a tip. You may want to ask the mods to move this into the regular target forum for better exposure. I Haven't shot benchrest in a bit but did email this link to a few of the guys I have shot with that run or help run matches. Good luck with the program and I hope to have a need to buy a rifle for and EBR type competition in the east.

For some more input here, we have two BR clubs in MI. Western Wayne on the East side of state and Southern Mi. gun club on the west side of state( I know confusing!) S.M.G.C. Has airgun specific BENCHREST comp’s & is USARB sanctioned! but the firing line has only 20 benches I believe? Very nice club and has a 100yd firing line (airgun only for this range) have reached out to members about holding a national ( this club has hosted FT nations previously ) but this is a huge undertaking and requires a large commitment and sponsorship to pull off! but would love to participate at any level and or yardage ( BENCHREST only )competition in the mid west!

Gary, I'm not sure what you are asking for. Is it to see if folks would be interested? If so, I definitely would. I live in Massachusetts and shoot bench rest here in Mass. with 5 or 6 other guys. I'm sure we could get two to three times that for a EBR type, two day match in New York state.

If you are looking to see who has expertise in planning and/or running such an event, I'm not your person. Interesting to hear that Crossman has reached out to some folks. Sounds promising. There is a guy who lives in western NY who had this idea himself a couple of years ago. I'll try and contact him and let him know to contact Crossman if he's interested.
