Before you buy an LCS SK-19, read this

As unfortunate as it is sometimes poop happens. You are the first bitter LCS owner I've heard of and am glad that AOA is clearly taking care of the problem. If the gun had a failure that disallowed it to fire the proper protocol is to always de-gas it first and foremost. I understand you just received a new gun and the dang thing didn't work, it happens. As far as the regulator, it's perfectly adjustable by the user. The problem is most of the users have zero knowledge of pcp guns and the sensitivity that goes with tuning them. The LCS regulator is very sensitive to adjustments and problems arise when users turn it up way past necessary application. The gun fails and then the owner sends it back to be fixed saying " I don't know what happened? It stopped working" I think we forget sometimes that these are "Precision Airguns" and not indestructible weekend toys for giant overgrown children. I feel for you and hope it all works out, in the end it might not be the gun for you.

If it comes back and fires a pellet every time I pull back on its spongy trigger, it is the gun for me. For night hunting having a quick follow up shot without coming off the scope or lever loading a pellet in darkness, it would be perfect. My requirements for the gun are very different than most. Although I fired 100 rounds, (17 into the ground to unload it for shipment) I never did try it in full auto, and would rarely use it that. I was just wondering if anyone attempted adjusting the regulator in spite of the warning in the AoA full review. In my case, I would be turning the regulator down, not up. Pretty sure I need to reduce the tank pressure to go lower, but I'll do more research on it. Initially I will only use the power adjuster. I am not a tinkerer, I only attempted to loosen the barrel as a favor to the vendor and at their direction.

The real issue is a lack of good video guidance unlike The FX Master Class series for the FX Impact. I do realize the Impact has been around longer through Gen I,X, and II so that's part of the reason there's more info out there. It does seem a little snarky to advertise the regulator as adjustable, and then not provide any info on how to do it and recommend sending it in to a service center. For a while, as I did when I first received it, I will leave it as is, until more information becomes available.

Hi cmatera

I also just received my SK19 just over a wk ago. Thought I’d share my experiences with it, in the short time I’ve owned it.

Waited for UPS to deliver and anxiously opened it up to find my grip had snapped in half 😕 I was like WTF, how does this even happen with it strapped into the hard case and the case also in a cardboard box. So i shrugged it off and contacted the dealer, who by the way was absolutely awesome and shipped me a new grip and I received it very quickly 2 days later. The only thing I can see happened is UPS dropped the box so hard it cause the grip to somehow snap off

Being still a little bummed about the grip, I loaded the mag and starting firing, first thing I noticed like everyone here has mentioned is how weird the trigger is. The trigger is very different between semi and full auto mode. It’s something I’ve come to accept and actually once you get used to it, it’s quit predictable at least in semi auto mode. In Full auto, it has a lot shorter travel, but has a much harder pull to it and feels like your rolling it over a hill to make it fire, lol, hard to describe and for sure different than anything I’ve fired.

Luckily I have a nice rest it sits on so I could shoot it without holding it since i had no grip on it because it was broken. A few mags later and I had forgotten all about the trigger and me not having a grip, lol. The gun is way to much fun and too easy to go through a lot of pellets and air, but damn so much fun. I was shocked at the accuracy I was getting and at the rate of fire i could lay the led down

The short time I’ve had it, I’ve probably put around 1500 rounds or so through it and it’s been flawless so far, not one hiccup and has been really accurate to boot. I have a impact and few other pcp’s and the sk19 hangs with the best of them and actually the few times I’ve tested it at 100 yrds, some of my best 100 yrd groups to date, were from this gun, and all of this while being a Semi auto gun. What’s awesome is having the quick follow up shots, at 100 yards even if you miss, just walking your pellets to the target until you hit, is really quick and easy If you can see your hits as you fire. The other day I had it in full auto and was doing 3-5 shot bursts on a frying pan at 100 yards and it had all the shots out of the gun before you’d hear the, TING -TING - TING - TING - TING, tons of fun for sure.

You mentioned about turning the regulator down, I also had the impression from everyone that adjusting the regulator was a absolute no , well I called the dealer and they mentioned it’s not so much adjusting it down, it’s more about ppl trying to adjust it up and going above 150 bar on the regulator. They don’t want ppl to go above the factory setting of 150 bar. Going down is not a issue at all, UNLESS you go below 100 bar, and it states that in the manual you got with the Gun

You can see ( where I circled in red ) on the bottom of this page in the manual that states do not go above 150 bar or below 100 bar on the regulator. Now here is the part that is important , when adjusting the regulator DO NOT move it very much. When you adjust it, you do not want to go up because it comes at 150 bar so you’ll only want to go down ( turn it CLOCKWISE ). I Think I moved mine about a 1/8th of a turn, if that. I don’t remember exactly, but you’ll want to barely move it a hair and go from there, also when you adj it you’ll want to fire it a few times to let it settle in and move to that adjustment. The new regulator setting will not be instant on the gauge, only after a few shots will it show the new setting on the gauge. I am shooting the JSB 33.95 gr and have it set for around 820 FPS. I have it set for shot count and accuracy FOR MY GUN. I get 4 mags easily ( 76 shots ) and could get more but usually just refill around then. My power adjuster I noticed also doesn’t have the most positive clicks either when adjusting it. I just went 2 notches or clicks when adjusting the power, and with every adjustment it showed immediately on the chrono the FPS change. Straight out of the box the gun was set at 150 bar and by just adjusting the power wheel there was a huge range of FPS from min to max. I was really surprised by this and found it to be really easy and quick to adjust the power output of the gun. Adjusting the regulator is not needed, I’m not one to leave things alone and loved how easy this gun was to tune.

I have had the barrel off a few times and like everyone says it’s very important to adj it back to the proper depth, I really think they could of done a lot better here with some sort of marking or way to get it to the exact depth so it’s not hitting the mag and preventing it from spinning like you’ve mentioned in your post. I intend to mark mine down the rd to be sure it’s repeatable every time i remove the barrel. As for now When I screw my barrel back in I lightly snug it down (magazine will not spin at this point ) then flip the lever up to be able to free spin the magazine and as I slowly unscrew the barrel I take notice when the mag starts to spin again and I go just a hair past that point , then screw the 2 bolts back in to clamp the barrel at that point.

One other thing I did was purchased a Donnyfl adapter that allows me to screw on any 1/2 x20 moderator, and put his sumo on it. It really changed the sound of the sk19 to a lot deeper tone and really took the bark off, you still hear all that action noise when firing with your ear being so close to the action but the report sounds a lot nicer now with that deeper tone.

Overall I really love the gun and its a freekin riot to shoot. I’m sure as they slowly begin to improve on this platform and make changes it will get better and better, although I’m pretty impressed with it so far and couldn’t be happier with it as of now , time will tell how it holds up but I’m loving it in the very short time I’ve owned it.

Hope your issues get resolved and it sounds like they will, and if your like me you’ll love the benefits of having a semi and full auto over the few quirks it may have. Good luck and let us know how it all turns out

You have given me some very valuable information-thank you. UPS can do some amazing things with our packages-sorry about the handle. I do believe my gun will come back good. The dealer has been excellent to work with. Once I get a functioning gun, I will start by only using the power wheel and only go to the reg if really necessary. From the info you provided, I would not hesitate to adjust the reg if I felt the need, understanding the micro movements required and the range to make sure and stay in. I too have the Donny FL 1/2-20 adapter and a .30 Ronin as that was what donny recommended to me.

Actually, we are still working on it. The gun is going back to AoA for the second time, today. It went back the first time on 1-17-20. It got to them the following Wednesday, but it was the week of Shot Show, so did not get looked at until the following Monday. It has been really weird. I sent the gun to them with 225 bar in it, but by the time they looked at it after Shot Show, it had 100 bar in it (11 days). The Service Department checked the barrel and magazine clearance tolerances, tank tested it for leaks, test fired it extensively, and sent it back. I got it Friday 1-31-20. I fired 6 19 round mags (all semi auto as you cannot detect a failure to fire issue in full auto shooting 19 rounds in 3 seconds) I had one failure to fire, but more importantly, the gun was losing 35-40 bar every 24 hours.

One thing I would like everyone to know-semi auto guns are greatly affected by pressure loss. A leak can cause functioning problems, as the air is not just shooting the pellet, but is also advancing the magazine. I would also like to tell everyone how important it is to buy from a good dealer. After picking the gun, it's the second most important thing. AoA has been great to deal with. With today's shipment, they have paid freight back 2 times on a 17 pound gun. Rich in the Service Department thinks the gun must have developed a leak in some cryptic area while in transit. Before I bought the SK-19, I called and made sure AoA was able to service it. While nothing about it is super difficult, semi autos are a little different (more complicated). I will learn more about it in time, I just did not want to have to do so on Day 1, or fiddle with the gun and possibly void my 2 year warranty.

AoA is sending me a brand new gun while they seek the source of the problem with this one, or take it up with the manufacturer. If that doesn't demonstrate the importance of purchasing from a good dealer, I don't know what does. To my knowledge, everyone else who has these guns have had no major problems, so this one must have been a fluke. I do not expect any issues with the new gun.

Some feel maybe this is not the gun for me. For my purpose, it really is, or I would not be trying so hard. I would have just sent it back for credit, and moved on. The ability to stay on the scope while hunting at night and get an instant follow up shot is a game changer. I live in a subdivision, and the last thing I want is an injured animal staggering into a neighbors yard and the investigating that would follow. I still have not shot the gun in full auto, only semi auto. While the gun was at AoA, I was shooting a different lever operated airgun that I own. I fired the first shot at the target and took a second shot. The trigger did not move-Oh yeah, you have to pull the lever and load another pellet. The spongy trigger and slight weight increase are well worth it and not a problem to me. The accuracy is simply stunning, and I usually shoot from a rest so the weight is no issue.

I will post more follow up when the new gun arrives.

I don't know how accurate the markings are on the reg dial, but it looked like 5 marks from 100-200 bar or 20 bar each. If so, my reg looked to be set at 140 bar. I was filling to 225-250 bar and not shooting below 150 bar. I would think if the reg pressure setting was that critical, they'd make sure to get it right at the factory. I'm sure you Huben K1 guys have a huge leg up on understanding these guns. I may buy a Huma reg for the SK-19, I think it's like 85 Euros. I have a reg tester for it and can set it myself. Thank you for that tip.

This is an update on the saga of my SK-19. I am confident that the issue has been resolved with a new gun provided by Airguns of Arizona.-again, the importance of picking a reputable dealer. The new gun arrived at 5:10 pm yesterday, Wednesday 2-12-20. Since it was almost dark, I just recorded the new serial # and checked the air gauge. Unlike the original gun, it arrived with air in it (225 bar) - that was encouraging. I left the gun overnight, and the air gauge was still at 225 bar. I put the ATN 4K Pro back on and went outside to shoot it off an Outer's Varmint Rest. I was using the 1 Shot Zero feature of the ATN, but I took 2 shots because the front rifle support slipped after the first shot (I did not tighten the knob enough). After that, I fired the remaining 17 shots (all shots were at 28 yards). This is the result:

When the magazine cycled on this replacement gun, it seemed stronger and more positive than on the original. Although I only fired 19 rounds in semi automatic mode, I had no failures to fire and the magazine cycled flawlessly. I was worried that the replacement gun might not be as accurate as the original gun, but this gun too exhibited the same excellent accuracy. Thanks to Airguns of Arizona (especially Rich in Service) for "making it right".
