We had one to blow the plug out of the top at about 4000 psi and lost all my air while filling tank from my compressor. Lucky I had just step out of my shop, silicon everywhere and don't know where the plug went. Just blow $25.00 and it could have got me, I'll try a Dixion and see how it works.
Be careful with cheap gauges

I had that just happen to an expensive one, while I was increasing pressure w/ the regulator. The plug came out like a pellet with a lot of force. When I open the main valve, I always look the other way, of course when you are turning the regulator up you need to watch the gauge. I guess one should wear safety glasses.
