Nothing wrong with Bauer...if you read some of my posts, I'm a big fan, of Bauer, Mako and Coltri. Now with that said, the Bauer line of compressors got their fame for their bigger commercial units...built like tanks. They entered the utility compressor market and they had to scale down their costs....nothing bad about that, it's just that a utility compressor is not going to be asked to perform a life duty cycle that a commercial compressor would. You are still paying for the Bauer reputation, typically 500 to 1000 dollars premium over say a Coltri compressor.
Now with that said, the Coltri compressors are what daystate uses. They are good compressors, easy to work on and very reliable, but so are the Bauer line. So I would throw the Coltri line into the mix for your consideration, or if you prefer, the relabeled Daystate line. Just something else to consider in your search.
I personally have owned and operated Bauer($10K), Mako ($8K) and now a Coltri (approx $3K?)(Daystate). They each have fulfilled my expectations of the job I demanded of them. Enjoy the process of choosing. Hope this helps.
