Barrel tuning

This is really something I need to think over even if I’m not shooting any competitions it definitely would make Bench time more enjoyable then just sighting in a scope and just shooting.. When you marked the tape did you shoot and turn the barrel to find 12 o’clock with your main pellet then mark 1 2 3 4 around Barrel till you got back to 12 ? I can see where if you had a left to right 4-6 mph breeze and then index the barrel say at 9 o’clock how it would help hit the 10 ring with less side holdover....ya this indexing is starting to look very interesting once you know how big your circle is at 25 yards with a certain grain pellet and go from there, definitely a lot to learn.

I haven’t even started indexing yet!

Hey Guys!, 4th shot I believe I missed a condition?, been pretty good at matching consistant pellets, this isn’t the smallest group that I shot that day (4-10 shot groups in all, another group had a similar flyer, but pretty average overall ) What’s interesting is: This was the first 10 shots out of barrel that was just cleaned! Normally I’ll shoot 10 -15 pellets to season the barrel? Still learning...

I was thinking of the HMx .25 LRT as my next RAW but now I’m back to looking into the BM500x in .25, I should never of looked in this thread, heck I don’t even have my HMx .357 yet and now I’m wondering how to justify another 25-2600 hundred dollars hahaha....I really like the .25 as a all around caliber and getting a BR rifle in .25 that I can index would just be a fun challenge.
Having nerve damage in my hands it’s hard to pick up the smaller 177/22 pellets and load them and that’s why the .25 is so appealing to me, just easier to pick up and single load.

Correct me if I’m wrong?(and I probably am), for RIGHT hand twist barrel left to right wind LP area would be above pellet (impact high) conversely right to left wind LP area below pellet (impact low) Dismissing other variables like projectile velocity, shape, air density, boil, and the ever present not actuality aiming where you thought u were😳! See BOIL!

The HM in .25 with poly barrel is hella accurate, i have a LRT stock for hunting and bmx stock for target. Search Ken Hicks on YouTube and watch my long range videos.
