Bantam Sniper HR strikes again...

Went down to my permission for 2 hours, not much activity the sparrows saw me and took off. Set up inside the building dialed down to level 1 sending Crosman Premiers at 650ish FPS and took my first starling at 25 yards. Out the corner of my eye I caught movement 15 yards to my left, young rat, sent another, dead rat. His buddy popped out and got the same. I shot two other rats at 10 yards that were in holes and unrecoverable. Then I went after some sparrows, shot six but only bothered to recover the one. Then I had a perfectly set up rat at 45 yards, a gimme shot, lined up, sent the pellet and missed. I forgot to dial up the power level after smoking the sparrows. I was not happy. Two more starling at 25 yards, power level 1. And finally this pigeon off the peak of shown roof at 54 yards with a JSB 18 at power level 6, DRT.

The Sniper is awesome in many ways, but it’s practicality in actual pesting. Where the ranges I encounter can be vary from 10 to 100 yards is where it shines. This gun is proving to be very versatile in that I can go from 30 FPE to 13 FPE by just switching pellets and dialing down the transfer port adjustment. This awesome gun does not get the press it deserves.

That sounds like a fantastic 2 hrs well spent! Looks like a beautiful day out also.

Speaking of power adjusters... I love the ones that I have dealt with on 2 of my FX guns, the Streamline and the Royale 400 (sold). Very useable settings . Low=10fpe medium=20fpe high=30fpe. I wish my Wildcat had a 3 level power wheel. If it did, I think it would be the perfect gun. I’m so glad to hear that you are enjoying your Bantam Sniper.

Nice rifle and good shooting, L. Leon. How's the trigger and action on your Brocock? Some of the reviews and comments i have seen say the bolt action is not the smoothest and the trigger needs work.

I want to get into the PCP game in the next few months and crossing my fingers there will be some black Friday/Cyber Monday discounts. I would be going in new since i only have a springer and want to do it right with one rifle. Taking into account a tank and a few accessories, my budget shortlist is down to Brocock Bantam Sniper HR, Uragan (A.T), Wildcat MKII Compact, and maybe Vulcan 2 Bullpup. I would not be customizing a lot and want to buy new since i have not found a place in Houston that does repairs.

The trigger is fine for me, I haven’t felt the need to adjust it lighter, though it can be. The bolt action “is” smooth and light and gets more so with time. I say this because I also own a Compatto with thousands of pellets down range and the bolt action is smooth and light. I personally wouldn’t buy an FX. I know that many like them, but you see many post of problems with guns that cost north of 1K, some within weeks of purchase! My Compatto and Bantam perform “right out the box” and continue to do so. As they should for the hard earned US coin I paid for them. Good luck my vote either the Vulcan or Bantam.
