Bad day with the Leyla 2

I have the Pappy Yohst check rest on the Leyla. As I was moving the Leyla out of the truck I must have been hanging onto only that cheek rest and it is just a slip fit. I dropped the damm gun from belly button high to the gravel road I was on. What a nasty sight to see and hear that gun clatter in the rocks. I picked it up and said my shooting for the day is done. I have small splatter burst targets stuck around the feed bins so I can check my zero every now and then. I was thinking no way is this gun useable now, but what would it hurt to see if and where it's shooting. At 30 yards it was still dead on. I used the gun the rest of the day. Glad Ed made them strong enough to drive over. Guess they are also strong enough to survive an idiot dropping it. What would the result have been if it was some of those fancy high end guns??

Nobody sponsors me. It's embarrising to admit the above.

I have dropped all my edguns and one actually rolled down 18 steps onto the cement walkway , and I have to say it also held zero , I am not bragging about dropping mine more or worse but , I use edguns cause they still work when things like this in real world happen ,

I have had another gun one tie I dropped it from stomach height and it was done it leaked at the plenum , I wont mention brand but many other brands are great guns but not as durable , I like durable LOU

That’s what I picture happening every time I put it’s full weight on the single point sling. Glad to hear it can take the fall but I’ll keep the paranoia just the same.
I play out Final Destination scenarios constantly while driving, sounds kind of unhealthy but I’d have to believe its saved my backside a time or two.

Not to say I don’t trip over my own feet on occasion...

Aloha Jim,

WOW, sorry to hear of your almost bad day, luckily Edguns are tough, the stock & scope survived the fall also. I saw the video that Ed ran over the Matador with his SUV but he also had the plastic stock on and removed the scope. Now I know at least the stock is tough. Glad to hear everything is okay.

Aloha,
Keone

If the scope was a Edgun Stalker it would be just fine

If the gun is to ugly for you to show your face in public.... send me a message and I would be more than happy to give her a non abusive home ;)

We have all done it at one point. It happens, but it is the good guns that are able to take the beating and keep on shooting.
