Back in action day 2

Well at 8:15 am this morning @vitals2k and I went out to yesterday’s permission for some more “clean up work.” It was another beautiful morning, and I guess the birds thought it so too and went out for brunch some where else.

There were maybe a 1/8th of the birds there today as there was yesterday, so we had less success. Also, I did some filming. Over the next couple of days I will put together the video, just wish I had a scope cam because I was very happy with some of the shots.

While I stalked @vitals2k did the drive around. I got three pigeons today from 25 to 55 yards. The 55 yard shot was free standing at about a 20 degree angle using the Taipan Vet Compact with 25 grain hades running 810 fps which comes out to around 36 FPE. However, I used @vitals2k’s Brocock Compatto again using 177 H&N BHE and got a pigeon at 40 plus yards. (Yes the cow is trying to eat the Compatto.) @vitals2k got a couple of pigeons and a collared dove using his Taipan Vet Long.

I did run through the barn with the Brocock for some sparrows, but none to be found, and yesterday they were think as thieves.

Over the next few weeks I hope to get a couple of more permissions in the area. We have a good foothold with one very happy dairyman, so hopefully that give a snowball effect for getting more.
