ATN Ballistic Profile Settings:

Hello all,

New to the forum, but I wanted to create a repository of various settings that people have had success with using their ATN scopes with their air rifles. If this already exists, feel free to point me in that direction, but I have looked far and wide without much success.

***There are plenty of threads out there detailing peoples' frustrations with ATN products so please limit the discussion here to the topic at hand *** 😃

The below settings are currently working for me at the following ranges 10 yds, 20 yds, 35 yds, and 50 yds. I have not had a chance to stretch it out further than that as of yet, but will post updates when done.

Setup 1-

Rifle: FX Impact MKII .25 cal 700 mm w/ DonnyFL FX moderator (actual muzzle velocity ~930 fps). Max Power, Reg @100 bar.

Scope: ATN X-SIGHT 4K PRO 5-20X w/ ABL 1500 - FW ver. 3.1.05.349

Pellets: JSB Exact King 25 25.39 gr

ATN Profile Settings:

Drag Profile - GL

Ballistic Coefficient - 0.038

Bullet Weight - 25.39 gr

Muzzle Velocity - 2000 ft/s

Zero Range - 22 yds

Site Height - 1.5 inch

Setup 2-

Rifle: FX Impact MKII .25 cal 700 mm w/ DonnyFL Shogun moderator (actual muzzle velocity ~930 fps). Max Power, Reg @100 bar.

Scope: ATN X-SIGHT 4K PRO 5-20X w/ ABL 1500 - FW ver. 3.1.05.349

Pellets: JSB Exact King 25 25.39 gr

ATN Profile Settings:

Drag Profile - GL

Ballistic Coefficient - 0.038

Bullet Weight - 25.39 gr

Muzzle Velocity - 1700 ft/s

Zero Range - 22 yds

Site Height - 1.5 inch

I wasn't surprised that the different moderator changed my POI, but I was surprised that it required me to alter the ballistic settings.

Thanks for sharing!

I have the 4K 3-14 on my .25 Gauntlet. I zero at 20 yards.

In my profiles, I only need to adjust the Muzzle Velocity 30 to 40 fps to be dead on at 50 to 90 yards.

I'm shooting the AA 26 gr at 860 fps. I ended up having to change the Muzzle Velocity to 890 fps. I use the G1 profile.

Thanks! This is the exact type of info I am interested in compiling.

Thanks cbuckley. I was just about to mothball my ATN in frustration. My Brocock Sniper XR Magnum is set at half power and shoots Air Arms 25.4 grain pellets at 905 ft/s. The GL profile and my muzzle velocity fudged to 1900 ft/s did the trick for me with the ATN 4k 5-20/ABL 1000 setup. I wasted hours and 100s of pellets trying to get the G1 profile to work.

Is your scope height really 1.5"?
On my AEA HP Bullpup, the scope height is 3.4" and on my lower profile Benjamin Bulldog, the scope height is 3". I just enter in what my chrony says and the BC for my NSA slugs and use G1 and it works great. I sighted in at 25 yards and I have half inch groups at 100 yards.

Thanks for the thread and help. I'm new to the scope and M3 but manage to get the ballistic calculator working with the help above.

I'm shooting 25cal H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme at 968 FPS. I used Hawke ChairGun to get the "actual" drop the ATN ballistic calculator should be showing and tweaked settings in the ATN until they matched.

DO NOT use the Obsidian ATN app to adjust the pellet profile. The app (at least on Android) doesn't like the small numbers and saves defaults that are way off. It's fine to set up initial profile through app, but do all the tweaking through the scope interface.

My profile for H&N pellets shooting at 968fps is: G1 drag, 0.035 BC, weight 28.24, MV 975, zero 43 yards, sight height 3.299.

Some of the numbers above got changed by the scope after they were entered so they don't match what I originally put in. But comparing the drop between ChairGun and the X-Sight ballistic calculator they are agreeing within 0.1" from 15-100 yards.

Glad you got it working for you! With all of the bells and whistles of this scope, I'm shocked the ATN Ballistics Calculator doesn't get all of the attention it deserves in the airgun community. I took this groundhog at 68 yards using the ATN X-Sight 4K Pro 3-14x with extended magnification at 36.7x, and I added in 5mph of wind from the south. The NSA 26.8 gr slug dropped right into the nape of his neck shooting unsupported from the kneeling position.

I can confirm this, configured same settings and now finally got some good results... thanks all
