ATI Nova Freedom / Seneca Aspen parts question

Hi All,

I have been watching ATI's website for the last few months trying to buy a Freedom in .22 caliber but they were sold out. I called ATI in mid November to find out when new rifles would be available but they had no idea when they would get more stock,(Stocked as of December 4, 2019) so I gambled and purchased two parts guns. I was successful in making one good rifle that holds air! after using the best o-rings and pressure gauge! I have read through so many forum topics and posts and I can not find answers to the problems I am having with the second Nova Freedom parts gun. I googled and duck duck go searched and have not found the answers! Before i repair it I want to upgrade as many parts as possible, Any suggestions?

1) Is there an aftermarket pressure gauges available with bigger print (old eyes) that works in these rifles? I seen one from PCPMart but I question the fitment, quality and print size.

2) I have a assembly diagram but i am not able to identity the part number for this broken tube or how to remove the broken part. Does it unscrew once the pin is removed? How does the pin come out? It is the outer most piston aluminum tube and it is torn into two pieces. it has two flat spots (for a wrench) in the middle of the tube. it unscrews on one side and the (broken) side seems to have a pin retainer?

3) This parts gun was built in 10/2017. Has there been any improvements in the production or the design of the gun or any of the parts?

Most likely, parts will not be available from ATI anytime soon. While I have suggested, it doesn't look like Nova Vista has made them available, either. You'd think having listings on Ali-Express would be an easy way to support end users.

You will have to evaluate if you can source and do whatever machine work needed to that aluminum tube. Or buy another parts gun, or this one becomes a "true" parts gun.

The Liberty uses a M8 manometer gauge, and suspect Freedom uses the same. You could pull the one on your "broken" gun to be sure. Not allot of choices in M8, even on Ali-Express. I think there is an Airforce gauge that uses M8 and at least reads in psi, but only goes to 3k.

Having a gauge that only reads to 3K on a Freedom is not a big issue

Many Freedom shooters, including myself, find that beginning shooting at 2800 (or less) provides good results.

There is documentation of this in the forums

With the Freedom the user is the regulator, and pumps back up to pressure every 3-5 shots.

This thread may help you figure your question out. https://www.airgunnation.com/topic/stuck-halfway-thru-seneca-aspen-nova-freedom-pump-repair-photos/ Butch seems to still be active and replied to my questions there as well and is very knowledgable about the gun.

If you are still looking to purchase a new one, and use your parts guns for just parts, buds gun shop still has the 22 for 306. I got mine from them, and everything went smoothly (i saw some bad reviews of them beforehand, but they seem to operate better now). https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/712015728

As far as parts, you can get the gauge from AliExpress it is a M8 thread. The tube you in your pic will have to be replaced. Call ATI and see if they have one (the outer tube) that they will sell you, if not ask about a parts gun and last if that all fails have someone make you one. The parts in this gun is hard to come by if you do not have a parts gun or can not make them yourself.
good luck,

Butch
