Well I made a recommendation a few days ago to josh3rd for a springer scope and now I'm not to sure!!!

Athlon Talos 6-24x50 side focus with the ATMR1 Reticle has failed after 3 outings on my HW80. 22... The reticle has tilted to right about 15° in probably less than 100 shots!

Guess maybe I need to upgrade to one of the 30mm tube scopes... going to contact Athlon warranty and see what they will do for me. I know there life time warranty and they will replace it but maybe should just upgrade now and save further grief...

Love this scope but should I take another chance? What ya think?

I had no issues with an Athlon Helos BTR 6-24x50 on my HW80 (with cheap Mizugiwa 30mm Medium Profile mounts). Although, if I were to do it again, I would get Ares BTR 2.5-15x50 for the HD glass as I don't use more than ~16x anyways.

Those both look awesome but I have a hard time justifying that price for optics! Maybe need to learn to....

I have that same scope on my 12 ft. lb. Pro Sport and it has about 2k+ shots under it's belt. Love the scope...so far. Not nearly as punishing as an R1/HW 80,so I guess time will tell. Good Luck!

Mike I was thinking the same thing!

After I get it fixed or replaced I'm going to put it on my 12fpe TX200 and see how it fairs. Thinking I might try the 4-14x44 30mm tube. Have them on Amazon for $251 shipped! Seem the bigger tube scopes handle recoil better. I hope!!! Lol.

Well it will be two weeks tomorrow since I sent the scope back for warranty and have not heard a word.... They ask for email and phone number on the return slip so why has no one contacted me to let me know what's going on? Hawke warranty kept informed through the whole process the last time one failed. In fact they upgraded me to better scope to fit my needs. I don't know time will tell....not very impressed!

I long way back I found an article that told what scopes were air gun springer rated,it also told which air gun scopes were magnum springer rated....I believe the Bushnell Elite models are magnum springer rated....yea they were,like the 3200,4200..had a Trophy mounted on my RWS 52and a Legend on my X 200 no problems....Philippines scopes are Always better than Chinese......from my experiences .... wouldn't the best advice be to ask the manufacture?
