Athlon Optics. Finaly we have more scope options. Including close focus and FFP.

"Kitplanenut" Thing is the 34 for all practical purposes is the same size and weight and only a few dollars more, so why step down.
I do not see much degradation in clarity and light until around 30x on my 34x Argos. So if you mostly shoot at 24x you should get 100% clarity at that level with the 34x scope vs. if you are using the 6-24x scope at it's max 24x power may have the same slight degradation as the 34x has at 30x.

"aurora"Quick question for anyone with both the 6-24 and 8-36..

If you set both scopes to 24x power, are the reticules the same size / thickness?

I have a primary arms 4-14 FFP, but the reticle becomes too thick at full power. So my theory was if the 6-24 became too thick at 24, I could buy the 8-36 and reduce the power to get a thin reticle. But this obviously wont work if they are both the same size at the lower powers.

Thanks!

Also, how are the reticles at full power? Not too thick?
Because this is a first focal plane scope the reticle may actually seam like its getting bigger but its not. When you zoom the scope in the subtensions stay the same so its basically like the reticle is printed on the target no matter what magnification you are on. If you try aiming at a target with your primary arms FFP scope while adjusting the magnification you will notice that the reticle will never cover more of the target than it did on a lower power setting. For me personally with the 6-24x scope the reticle is thin enough. So to answer your question both the 6-24 and the 8-34x scope should have the same size reticle. Here is a diagram of just how big it is.

I was looking at the specs and it has a Total Elevation Adjustment 13 MIL. that means 6.5 above and 6.5 below the crosshairs right ? And the Adjustment range per rotation 5MIL . So does that mean you can only make one full turn up and one full turn down ? I'm I figuring this wrong ? With a air gun would you ever need more than the extra 6.5 mildots you get with the turret in addiction to the 9 mildots you get on the reticle.
