Athlon Midas Tac 4-16x44 Mil scope

Well after looking through my Helix for a few days it's going back. Just not what im looking for and have had better. And now with my EVOL Tac coming very shortly decided I no longer was going to keep the Royale 400 that the scope was going on. Now I planned on putting my SWFA 10x42 on it but I wanted to go side focus and preferably variable mag. Could have went either SWFA 3-15x42 or the little brother to the 6-24x50 Midas Tac I owned shortly which was awesome just too big for me personally. That scope is the 4-16x44 and that's the route I decided to go. With 30MIL of adjustment I should have no issues with using it with standard rings and still sighting in my EVOL with the 50MOA built in rail. Like how the turrets are 10MIL per revolution and that the windage is capped.

Yeah I know the reticle is on the fine side for sure but id rather it be smaller than too large like the Helix I returned. That center dot was unbelievably large especially for an SFP scope. I also only really hunt so don't like high magnification scopes and do prefer a 44mm objective bell. If I were to go bigger I'd honestly got to an Arken EP4 4-16x50 with the 34mm tube for $550. I paid $545 delivered for this Midas Tac from Blueline optics with a sunshade and scope caps. I will look into some other rings though. Likely the Burris XTR Signature rings as there's no adjustments that can get loose.

I have 2 atholton 10x40x56 SFP really fine reticle I really love that one is a shame tha is not available in any other of the atholton scopes..is great to shoot really tiny things pretty far...I send the element back today..the arken 4x16x50..will be available with other reticles later August..so as soon my 2 arken 6x24x50 arrives will be ordering one of their 4x16 --.

In 2021 Athlon will be coming out with some "VERY WELL DESIGNED" reticles! Especially for the 4-16 Midas TAC. 😁 But that doesn't do us any good right now.

Dairyboy, I'm guessing you are a young family man anyway and have great eyes so it'll be easier for you to use the current reticle than it was for this old guy.

After you've killed some targets and game let us know your impressions please.

Got it in yesterday and am thrilled with it. Glass is awesome, turrets are perfect, and everything else works very smoothly. I think the reticle will work just fine for me. While the scope is still pretty long I like how the turrets and side focus are low profile especially compared to my SWFA. Couldn't be happier. So much better than that Helix!
