Athlon Helos’ first outing

Took the Athlon Helos 6x24x50 atop my Bantam Sniper HR to the dairy looking to score on some rats. Got to the dairy baited my known areas. Then went after the pigeons, shot these two at 54 yards and another not in the picture at 50 yards. Took out 6 sparrows from 20 to 40 yards. Then each of these sneaky rats was taken at 40 yards as they attempted to “feed and scoot” on me. But I was watching through that APLR2 reticle and they each took a JSB 18 to the head. The area I’m taking these rats from is less than two feet while, and the kill zone is half that. I have to be ready to shoot as soon as they stop, which they rarely do. All in all a satisfying session at the dairy, looking forward to more kills using the Helos.

In the photo below I have birds out at 83 yards, the wind was from behind me at 7 o’clock, 10 MOAs of holdover and 3 MOA for wind. I saw the pellet sail just to the right of my intended target.

Looks like a successful day at the farm, a couple of those rats look huge! Were you able to determine how the Helos ranges through the side focus, such as would it come down to 10 yards and could you see a difference in the 5 yard increments from 40 to 55 yards?

Aimright, I’m going to attempt the ranging shortly. And will post up.
