Ataman AP16 Compact - Problem

Still no luck, polish3d it up a bit but the the stem still sticks. It seems not a 100 percent straight. Shall try and set it straight. And check.

Got in touch with a gentleman, Mr. Rustum, from Ataman. He is also suggesting that I get the valve moving smoothly. He says to use a drill 1.5 to 1.6 mm in the hole.

Don't have that size in hand, Shall get it tomorrow and follow his advice. He was kind enough to make a video for me and emailed me. My appreciation for Ataman went up many fold by his dealing and attitude. 2 thumbs up!

Personally I would only drill the valve as a last ditch effort. Any reason Mr Rustum did not offer to send you a new stem? If yours is bent that seems it would be the best solution.

Finally everything is in working order.

Shall try at the range Saturday.

Thanks a million to Mr. Rustam Nadyrov from Ataman for all his help

Normally such issues are related to valve sealing. You could put the stem on a glass and rotate it. Glass is a very straight surface. You could mark the bent point. Fix it.

There could be the problem on other than stem area that could need polishing.

Anyhow it's great that you have fixed it.

umair bhai, no, it was none of the problems you mentioned.

someone had fired the pistol with no air thus damaging the hole the valve stem passes through.

Alqannas in Dubai has very poor management, unfair dealing and obviously untrained staff.

Zulfikar bhai,

The problem you mentioned is also indirectly the same. I mean that the valve was not seating properly.

There are some makes that are very sensitive in the matter of firing without air.

It's just like fx royale series guns. The hole through which the valve stem comes out to take the hit of the hammer get peened if fired without reasonable pressure of air.

In nutshell valve was not closing properly and the reason is that the hole was peened.

Many times the potential buyers don't understand it and shoot the guns without any air and cause such harms.

Anyhow I am happy that you got it fixed.

In some cases the peened hole is reworked and thing gets resolved.

Mike, Have you tried it on AP16?
Ha...I have two Ataman guns (BP17 and AP16), it fits neither !
Too large in diameter . The lengths seem to be fine.

Well, good catch. While I can it fit, it seems like only a few thousands in diameter to remove... Too bad, I wonder WHAT Huma was using as the sample gun ?

I'll have to give it a try on my Kalbrugun, Cricket, SUPPOSED...to fit that too.

Thanks

Mike
