ATAman .25 Cal

Whatever happened with the guy who won the Ataman contest? I was looking into that Airgun myself but can't find any info on the forum about the gun's performance. I've review Pyramid Air's website but it's the same as a few months ago, I'm looking for someone who is actually using the gun. Any of you have any experience with an Ataman? The winner was "Zebra" haven't seen him around in a while.

I've been around.

I haven't received the gun yet. I'm not really sure when it will arrive. I know the first shipment was sold out. I don't know if they have had any more shipments delivered since but it is currently marked as "out of stock" on their site. The expected in stock date keeps getting pushed back.

I was initially told that my gun was being tested before being sent to me. Then I was told they had all been sold to others and that I would get mine at the end of June. I haven't called to get a new update.

I promise to review it when it arrives.

Btw, it is a 22, not a 25 cal. It's the walnut ultra compact I am waiting on. I haven't seen any reviews of their 25 cal bullpups yet.

They did have an initial shipment. I don't really know what happened but my guess would be that the one they were going to send got given to someone else.

I like the look of it too. Looking forward to taking it for a spin. As soon as I saw the Ataman lineup, that was the one I liked the look of most. I like the look of their "type 2" bullpups as well but there is too much cross-over with my Cricket for me to buy one.

I like the look of all of the Ataman lineup apart from the long rifle that they call a carbine. Even their pistol looks to be worth a look and I'm not a pistol guy at all.

I haven't seen any peer reviews yet though.

"Mrshosted"Maybe we should all 86 Pyramid air gun sells until Zebra gets the gun he won, This is bull that they use the give away to boost sells then back out with a line of B.S.
I appreciate the solidarity but they haven't said they are backing out. As far as I know, they are still intending to send it when the next shipment arrives. The boat from Russia is just taking a long time and the date keeps getting pushed back. It was a bit mean of them to give my one to someone else (after telling me it was being tested) but I'll live.

The problem of shipping delays from Russia seems to be fairly common. At least, it was common enough for Kalibrgun to move production to the Czech Republic - a smart move given that Crickets have been available fairly consistently in the last few years instead of sporadic shipments like before. This was one of the main reasons I chose my Cricket over an Edgun. I liked both but the Edgun was out of stock when I was buying with no reliable info on when the next shipment would arrive. There was just an assumed delivery date that constantly got pushed back. I'm too impatient for that kind of thing.

Hopefully Air Venturi will find a way to establish a reliable supply of Ataman guns soon.

We don't appreciate your harsh candor regarding the Ataman PCP contest.

I just spoke to the Service Manager of Pyramyd Air. Apparently you left him a rather hostile & nasty voice message this morning. That wasn't very professional since you have no stake in the matter. He assures me that Zebra’s Ataman will be delivered as soon as they receive the shipment.

If we could make the Russian boat sail faster, we certainly would. Until then please try to be a bit more tactful & understanding like Zebra.

I got one of the 1st shipment in black from a customer.

he wanted it to shoot faster, well I added a smooth twist barrel that is 4" longer--with out adjusting anything now the speed is up to 910fps with 18g from 835fps while maintaining the same shot count.

A new CF shroud was also made, 2.5" was added to the OAL.

Some guys are never satisfied with OEM, well with the faster speed it does up the FUN.
