At Long Last! Rapid Air Weapons HM1000x.25

Really Sansyed, that sounds good. If I get one I had thought about asking them to set it at around 920 W/those JSBs . But if it is accurate @ 960, even better.

I expect to purchase a RAW HM1000x in .25 later today, new from a dealer who has it in stock. It would be my first RAW and first .25 (I have AA S410 and Daystate Regal XL both in .22). I've only been messing with air rifles for three years. 

This thread and the associated links have been interesting and a bit intimidating. I would be uncomfortable taking the gun apart and adjusting the regulator. However, the pictures make it seem pretty simple?

I'm getting this rifle to squirrel hunt here in KY and to plink. I'm getting .25 just to up the FPE some and for fun. I want it to be accurate first but also powerful (close to the 55FPE advertised). I'm choosing this rifle over the Daystate Air Wolf MCT Extreme primarily for the increased FPE. I would prefer the rifle wasn't quite so long at 46" and I am a bit concerned about the weight. However, to get one that is 40" or so and in the 8 pound range I'd have to drop to 40 FPE (Daystate Air Wolf). 

If the deal doesn't work out later today (if the dealer doesn't change it on me) I'll order directly from Martin at RAW. He is only 100 miles from my daughter's home where I visit almost monthly. I hate to wait 10 weeks though because our squirrel season will close at the end of February. 

I ordered the Daystate Airwolf Extreme (.25) instead.

12fpe works on Squirrel at 50 yards every time, 55fpe you'd better be taking head shots only.




Post it all up when you get it dialed in.

Great looking HM 30 Cal! Wish I had added the Pic adapter to my receiver. Didn't know that was an available option. Mine is the standard HM (not the X) and I had Martin shorten the barrel for an OAL of 45". It's an absolute tack driver at 40 FPE. I get right at 75 shots on a 230 BAR fill before it drops off the reg. I haven't taken mine apart, so thanks for posting the detailed photos! I hope your RAW treats you well! Pic of mine below. Martin does a good job of hiding the available customization options . Neither the pic rail or the adjustable comb are listed anywhere on the RAW web site. I just looked. I'm assuming the pic rail is a pretty easy add-on, but I will find out. Question for you. Have you actually used the single load tray or just ordered it? That's one thing, I don't particularly like on this gun. With my big fat fingers its a bit of a bitch to single load. If that tray works well, I'll be ordering one of those too ! Thanks in advance for any info you can offer!

 Yes the single shot tray is $12.00 and rotates so left or right hand ( believe RAW has a true left hand action also but I may well be wrong on that , they DO have lefty stocks) ,
to me it seems with the slot about horizontal you can just sort of pitch a pellet in and then your large thumb does work-just need a finger nail , if that-.

Lot's of people don't seem to get all the option's, so many I just said, Walnut LRT ( Long Range Target, ya'll've seen that one right?) .30cal. period. But you can get pretty much any combination of anything RAW makes, I've seem a left hand FT stocked BM500, .... .... .... tube,bottle, large bottle small bottle cf bottle, want the tube shorter? Barrel shorter? Laminate any style on any action. Darn fun thinking of the possibility's, too much fun for me but perfect for those who do know exactly what they want. Need one today, call any stocking dealer and get that Brown truck headed your way, plenty of options to choose from there. "NEED" something special and Martin does try for 10 - 16 weeks. Don't forget four flavor's of barrel in .177, darn. Click every buttom on the RAW site , and maybe hit tier Facebook page - where I read about the new .177 barrel options- pretty sure several other cal have different manufacture barrels. 

Glad your enjoying the .25, anyone think I'm excited about my .30 that's is currently being 100 yard tested??? YUP. I post a picture when I get it.

Has anyone ever shot the HM1000X .25 w/o the shroud? If so how loud is it? If I get one I am not sure I need the shroud. I do not have one on my FX 400 .22 and it is not to loud for me. Since the HM1000X is regulated, there is very little wasted air leaving the barrel, so it might not be to loud??? I am tempted to order one that way and get a little longer barrel.

Yes, I shot a match without the shroud, and believe me, it is LOUD.
Can't cover up 65ft/lbs of blast with only a longer barrel. My barrel is 24 inches.
No comparison with a .22 R400 IMO, the HMX is twice as loud for my feeling.

"30cal"Nutcracker I have not shot mine without the moderator yet but I have removed it to look at it. It has what looks to be an air stripper as part of the shroud mount on the end of the barrel. I think I will take it off again and take some photos and post them. Coming soon.
I have shot my 39 fpe regulated .22 Marauder without the shroud and it is painful. You would have to talk to Martin about that. I can tell you that mine is louder
than I was expecting and personally would not want it any louder. That's one of the main reasons to have an air gun like this otherwise I would just use a .22 RF.

How far is the muzzle of barrel from the front of moderator? I think my FX Royale 400 is not so loud due to the 24" barrel & even though not regulated not a lot of wasted air. But the Sumatra in 25 at higher settings is loud, short barrel & I think there is a lot of wasted air with it. As you suggest I am going to ask Martin.

 It's an RAW so they can be different but my .HM1000 .22 w/carbon fiber sleeved barrel came with the reflex style M/B with an engineered - not just something that would work as some low end shrouded rig's- air stripper/diverter attached to the barrel and the CF mod sliped over so about half of the unit forward of the actual end of the muzzle, half behind, a very effective unit.
I have seen other options.
As it is regulated yet with a bit of power it has a short sharp snap, it is noisy but very brief.
I can fire a 12ga on the porch without bothering anyone here so that's not a concern for me. Wise idea or not I don't feel the need for ear protection ( which everyone should use)

I had problems trying to use my single shot tray I am not sure they sent me the right one I have been meaning to call them but I have been busy and have forgotten to take care of this.

I have not had the shroud off of mine, but it makes some noise even with it on. I would say at 40FPE its pretty comparable to what my FX400 was on high power with the FX factory moderator. Here are a couple of more pics of mine that I think do the stock better justice than the one I posted earlier.
