Asking for S510 owners help

Guys I'm wanting to get a 510 and can't make my mind up over the full length or the carbine. I definitely want the walnut stock and I want .22 but that's as far as I've gotten. A friend of mine has the carbine and I like the length and weight but it's loud so he a had to put an addition on it. It's fine now, nice and quiet and not too long. I would love the extra shot count of the full size gun but if it's just as loud it will have to be extended also making it way too long. That's my dilemma, what are your thoughts? Thanks.

do a searh here on this site s510. you will see my s510 limited edition in .22 cal. long verson.
I'm getting 45 shots at 28.5 foot pounds with jsb .18.1 accuracy with mine at 50 yards is around 14 mm ctc and smaller.
what a great gun. get the long verson if you want a lot of shots.
mine on low power 12 foot pounds I'm getting 120 shots.
the above is with a 30 fps overall spread

I've got an S-510 F.A.C. long version. It's quiet. It's not Marauder quiet but, it's not loud by any stretch of the imagination. My stock disco was much louder.
With all the high end (and much more expensive, I might add) rifles I've owned, the AA-S510 has held its own against them all. I'm not saying it'll outshot all of them. But, it has proven to be a consistent and reliable rifle for me. Completely stock and unmodified.
Good luck with your decision!
Tom

I really liked the S510 FAC that I had. It was the long version. Yes, to address lots of folks point that it doesn't have a regulator, I too, rather wished it did have one to smooth out the large curve in the shot string and I might have kept it if had in fact been regulated. None the less it was a quality rifle and I enjoyed shooting it. I don't remember it being particularly loud and never felt compelled to add anything to the barrel. Even the full length one seemed light to me and I had no problem shouldering it. I wouldn't mind having another one, but if I ever went that route again I would definitely investigate putting a regulator in. Regardless of the ample shot count that it already has, you just can't beat the consistency from shot to shot that a regulated gun gives you. It is one of the sexiest guns out there but I've always been a "function over form" kind of guy.

I had both for a while and this is what i found:
The carbine was much louder than the rifle version, so much that I had to put on an additional air arms silencer.
This made the carbine the same length as the rifle version.
The rifle version is ok in terms of loudness with the in built shrouded barrel so I didn't see the advantage of the carbine.
The Rifle version give 20 extra shots and has a bit extra ft-lbs.
Needless to say I got rid of the carbine.
The only disadvantage of the rifle version is it is considerably heavier.

Hope this helps.
