Asking for inputs on "built-in" Wireless Bluetooth Smart Chronograph design

Been working as hobby on a Wireless Bluetooth (BLE) Smart Chronograph gadget and already have a working prototype that connects to an Android app (iOS comes later). It is not affected by light, dust, etc, since it's not using Infra-Red LEDs like the Combro, Daystate MVT, Grand Prix, DeltaWolf, etc. It 's not limited like the MagnetoSpeed with its signal pickup issue with airguns. The current (unoptimized) battery life is estimated between 36 hours non-stop use to several weeks with normal use.

The BLE Smart Chrono has to be at least 60mm in length. The longer the better, at 127mm length would be optimal. Diameter wise, it cannot be smaller than 24mm OD, but the optimal diameter would be between 1.4-2 inches. Due to current circuit board/battery size the BLE Smart Chrono would not be able to be used also as a moderator at 24mm OD, but would have limited use as a moderator also at 1.4-2 inch size OD. This maybe solved later with a smaller circuit board and battery.

But before I start looking into 3D print housing options and a semi-final printed circuit board, etc. I want to make it as adaptable to any airgun as much as possible. There is a lot of flexibility for the housing and placement on the airgun. But there are also some physical size limitations.

So I have drawn up a flimsy chart of various options. The blue box is the BLE Smart Chrono. What option(s) make the most sense for adaptability, servicing, POI shift, etc?

The options are from top to bottom:

1. screw Moderator on naked barrel and then screw Smart Chrono of same OD with 1/2-20 adapter into end of Moderator

2. using 1/2-20 screw mount Smart Chrono on end of the naked barrel and then add on a moderator of the same OD

3. using 1/2-20 screw mount Smart Chrono in cone-end housing on end of the naked barrel and then add on a moderator of the same OD

4. (standard FX shroud 28mm OD/26mm ID) airgun shroud, with Smart Chrono screwed on with 1/2-20 adapter

5. (standard FX shroud 28mm OD/26mm ID) airgun shroud, with Smart Chrono screwed on with 1/2-20 adapter and Moderator screwed into end of Smart Chrono with 1/2-20 adapter

6. (standard FX shroud 28mm OD/26mm ID) airgun shroud, with Smart Chrono placed inside (this would require unscrewing the end of the shroud and removing the Smart Chrono insert, so it's not a simple add-on, more like a built-in setup. Can still turn on and charge (possibly) from muzzle-end or breech-end of shroud.

7. naked barrel or shroud, screw-on Moderator with Smart Chrono built inside the Moderator. (may lose some of the efficiency of the Moderator since circuit board and sensors do take up some volume, so may need to make the Moderator a bit larger, but more than 2 inches in OD is not required)

But any other configuration suggestions are welcome!

Why not just buy the cheap Combo from UK?

Why not the Combro?

- vulnerable IR sensors get damaged easily

- flimsy mounting

- need to tilt rifle or move shooter's head to the muzzle end to read display

- need external battery to keep Combro ready for each shot, or must must manually start before every shot

- must use wires to connect to PC

- needs wire connected to PC if you want to register shot strings

- mounted on end of airgun, cannot use moderator

BLE Smart Chrono:

- Android app keeps track of shots, PFE energy, shot strings, average, deviation, etc . Save and email data.

- Voice announces shots count, velocity, magazine empty notification, low pressure warning. Can announce via BLE-earbuds directly to shooter's ear.

- can be built-into rifle shroud or inside moderator but not vulnerable like DeltaWolf to dust, oil, cleaning rods, user damaging wires.
