Artemis P15: Sight-In And 10M Accuracy Test [Video]

My new toys showed up today from Krale in the Netherlands.
Atremis P15 .22 Cal and Artemis PP700S-A .22 Cal Pistol..

I fired both earlier, and They Are Both So Much Fun!!

1st thing's first.. Unbox, Inspect, Rough Sight In, Test Accuracy..
When I do this, I always test the guns out 'dirty' - Uncleaned first..
That way, I have a comparison for later on after I clean and lead in the barrels..

Anyways.. That's exactly what I did, and I took a quick video of the test shots..

For a [most likely] filthy barrel, this little pup shot awesome!

A DonnyFL adapter should be here tomorrow, so I can suppress it a bit..
Then later in the week, some more parts, so I can get a bipod on, etc..

Then.. Let the real games begin!

🤘 🙂 🤘

Glem.Chally,

You're right! After only a few test shots, I was already loving it!
I planned on putting the folding-stock on first thing, but, I actually ran into an issue..
*This might be a deciding factor when it comes to the quality / quality control..

To install them, you remove 2 screws on the top of the grip..
2 metal plates on either side of the hammer both have to come out..
The stock has two side sections identical to the above mentioned metal plates..
It seats around the hammer, then 2 screws attach it just like before..

Well.. Nope.. Not so much..

I got as far as placing the stock where it needed to go, but, it will not screw in place..
The two drilled/tapped holes are not far enough forward..
They're about 2mm too far to the rear, so, neither screw will go through the grip and into the stock..

*Sigh* And to 'fix' it, the inner most part of the mount would have to be ground down..
Possibly a bit on the other edges also, but, I think the end of each plate might just do the trick..
That would allow the mount to slide in further - moving the threaded holes inward a bit..
Just enough to get the screws in, and tightened down.

I'm not too thrilled about it right now obviously, and from other reviews,
I've seen that other people say it's nice, but, it's not nice quality - at all. haha

My initial idea was to get one of these pistols, and convert/modify it into a micro-bullpup.. we'll see..
Til' then, or, if I don't bother doing that.. It's be used as intended, and man.. It Is Fun!

These are my first ever 6 shots - Numbered:
I shot 1 -4 with my right hand only [I'm left handed]
Aiming for Center, 1 was wayyy off.
2 was much closer. 3 was super close.
4 veered off a bit too far to the left again.

For shot 5, I used my left arm as a brace - Elbow out..
Rested the barrel on my elbow, and - Sooo close!

For shot 6, I was aiming at the lower dot..
I used the same type of bracing / hold, and again.. So close!

I didn't bother trying a regular 2-hand hold,
as I was way to anxious and excited to shoot the P15. haha

I can't wait to play around more with the 700 though!

🙂👍

kzz1kaw,

Thanks, and right on.. Aaron sure does have some nice videos regarding these little pups,
and it's nice to hear that he helped you in your decision to grab one of these for yourself!

I've been following these things for way too long.. I even mentioned that to Aaron in a video comment..
To be honest, even though I've wanted to order one, I was going to keep holding off for a while longer,
but thanks to my Puncher Breaker valve snapping - I ordered my P15 a lot sooner than expected!
I'm really glad that I did, as mentioned . . . These things are just so much fun!

I hope to hear that you really enjoy yours too!!

My backstop: The black material is called 'stall-mat', and you can find that stuff locally at Tractor Supply Co.
If you swing by your local store, they usually have stacks of these mats piled up outside. They're Heavy!
They're 4ft x 6ft x 3/4" thick. I used 1/2 of one, cut in 1/2 again and doubled up to make a total of 1.5" depth.
Then framed it using 1" x 3" wood.

Here's my crappy video walk-through of what is involved, and how mine was made:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmrXPCpNXSw&t=8s

As for pellets: The ones in this video are Crosman Premier .22 cal 14 grain Hollow Points.
I actually use them in a few of my other PCP rifles also - because they shoot so well, and they're so cheap!
Walmart always has them in stock, and a tin of 500 of them only cost about $7.00
If/when I go to a Walmart, I make it a point to grab a few tins, and try to keep stoked up. haha

You should be able to find them in .177 cal also!

I also use a few different pellets by H&N and by JSB. All of those are much heavier though!
Mine would be in .22 caliber, so, closer to the 20 gr range..
They shoot much better when firing longer distances, and, they're great for slowing down the FPS,
and also great in higher powered setups. I will be using all of those in future videos as well,
and as soon as the cold weather lets up, I'll be using those when shooting outside again.

🙂👍

I'm sure you'll love that pistol! Let me know if that folding stock is worth having, I'm on the fence about it.

Glem, I replied to you up above, but, I have sort of an update since then..
I was having issues getting the stock to work on the pistol, but luckily, a member here on AGN gave me a suggestion,
I tried it, and it ended up working perfectly. It's sort of a p.i.t.a. but, in the end, it worked out..

I have two links for you:

Erlis,

Being bipolar and having insomnia usually makes for some very 'interesting' and/or long-winded posts from me..
I'm really glad to hear that you enjoy reading them! Thanks bro! I'll continue to do it for sure!
As much as I'd love to do videos, I'm just horrible at making them..
Anxiety, I hate the sound of my own voice, and I can't stand the video editing process..
[And that is coming from a photographer who really Really enjoys creating/editing photos] haha

Anyways, the "P15 Experience" should be a long and fun one to do!

Today, [2.19.2K19] I received my suppressor adapters from Donny..
I've already installed them on the P15 and the PP700, but, I was short on time, and had to go in to work..
I can't wait to get out, get the suppressor on, and see how much of a difference they make on these..

I have more pellets here that I'll also be sending through the P15, so I'm sure that'll be helpful too!
H&N, JSB, and in a few different types and weights.. [Those are the pellets that I usually go with]

The P15 only comes with a single-style scope rail.. 11mm Dovetail.

My CVLife scope has two interchangeable bases: 1 for 11mm and 1 for 20mm picatinny / weaver..
That said, it's another reason I use that scope for testing everything..

I have more goodies on order, and they should be in really soon..
11mm dovetail to 20mm picatinny adapter - so I can run my Disco 6-24 scope on it,
A picatinny 5-slot rail to mount to the stock - so I can attach another UTG HD Recon 360 bipod,
and... I think that's it for now..

So more to come for sure..

Dude, there's a reason that this little pup is sending you a signal..
They were doing the same thing to me.. And I finally gave in.. haha

🙂👍

Erlis, you ask and you shall receive!
[Update] UGT HD Recon 360 bipod / Discovery VT-T 6-24X50 scope combo:
I'll get better angles and photos soon - This is the only one that I have..

1550826859_1069027475c6fbd6b209566.26184224_20190221_105213.jpg

I really like this setup a LOT..
I use these bipods on all of my rifles now,
and hopefully, I'll get more of these scopes in the future too..
It's annoying having to swap them between guns all the time.

Anyways - Thoughts:

Me personally, I usually have to go with Low or Med ring height..
Since the P15 comes with 11mm Dovetail,
I had to get an 11DT to 22mm Picatinny adapter - Adding height..
Then the FX No Limit Rings - They're higher than I need also..

In the end, if I attempt an actual cheek-weld on the rifle,
The center of the scope is pretty much in line with my forehead..
Annnd.. There is no adjustable cheek comb/pad either..
That said - - - Lame..
I have to hover my head/eye around while aiming / taking a shot,
and Obviously that is effecting the overall accuracy and experience..

I'll have to come up with a custom cheek-riser - Adjustable or not,
Anything is better than what I've currently got..

👍

Yeah, i got 1 a couple weeks ago. Got a .25, kinda wish i would have got a 22. These seem to be catching on. No, it won't shoot with my Impact or Cricket or Wildcat.

But it is so light and comfortable. I'm shooting 3 inch groups @ 65 yds. The longer i shoot the better it becomes. I'm going to try to up the reg about 10 bars to get my speed up . Any one have any experience?

Ive done a LOT of chronograph testing with the p15 in .22 and .25. The p15 plenum only measures 10cc. In .177 and .22 it's not a big deal. However in .25 it is a major constraint. To get 25gr pellets in the 850fps+ range high reg settings and excessive HST are required, resulting in low shot counts. Some guns went be able to achieve this without mods

Lee/vash545 makes a plenum extension which greatly helps with the .25. I have one in my .25, with a LOT of tuning it gives 45 shots in the 880's with JSB 25gr.....

You bought a project gun. New barrel, better reg, larger plenum and lots of tuning will get it where it should be. You can turn the reg up but you are probably already out of hammer spring at the stock reg setting. Get out your wallet and tools.

Keyman62421,

Very cool! A 25 Cal version of these little rifles would be an absolute blast!
Yeah, I'm with you though.. As much as I'd like to say 'go big or go home',
I almost always go with .22 cal - to get a bit higher speeds and higher shot counts..
My only .25 is the Kral Nemesis [aka the Knight], but it's 'over-powered', so no big deal..

Anyways, I wish I knew of more tips and tricks 'personally', so I could shoot ya some advise..
Unfortunately, I would have done the same exact thing that you mentioned..

I see that a few guys have chimed in with some info and advise, so that's cool!
I'd start off with what you've got, and then go from there if needed/wanted..

That's the cool thing about a lot of these guns - They're just so customizable / modifiable..

Best of luck!

🙂👍

mackeral5 & Vetmx,

Thank you for chiming in with the info, advise, tips, and tricks!
Even though they pertain more to the .25 cal version, this sort of thing is Great to learn and know!

It's awesome to hear about different things we can do to get better [or the best] performance outa' these guns!

I have over $1,100 in my .25 P15. It’s now where it should be velocity and accuracy wise when compared to quality PCP .25’s. I call it my Chaipan. I don’t want to hijack this thread by typing a couple paragraphs on what all I did.

Vetmx,

Very cool, and I'm glad to hear that you've gotten your P15 so dialed in.. Awesome!
The "Chaipan" - Hahaha That's a Great nickname! 🤣

Hey, when it comes to the threads that I post, you're more than welcome to add whatever you'd like to!
Seriously! No worries about cluttering up and/or hijacking! It's all good, as I enjoy that side of things a lot too!
That said, feel free to let er' rip!
