Results Arizona State Ft Championships

While waiting for the official match report, I just wanted to throw out some THANKS to Mark K and Larry P for the incredible amount of effort on their parts to make it happen. While there was a lot of assistance in setup and takedown of the course, these guys took care of just about everything else AND a huge amount of work on the courses. THANKS MUCH to both of you.

We had a good representation from Ca and one from Co and one from Vegas.

Ben turned in his best performance in Hunter ever to have high overall !!!!

Congratulations to him, Lauren, Kelly H, and to Bill C in Pistol !!

We shot in just about continuous rain on Sunday an most scores reflected that.... except for Ben..... phenomenal shooting Ben!

I had a great time connecting with friends and shooting nice courses and it seemed most did, as well.

Cole put in a stellar performance on Saturday and is likely to have done well on Sunday but couldn't stay..... sorry Cole.

Good times....

Bob

This was a superbly run tournament as it was the previous year (my first FT competition). I had a great time, and will put this on my shooting calendar as a "must attend" each year. Congrats to Ben Spencer (Hunter Class) who won the overall high score for the Championship, and did an amazing job in the rain on Sunday. Great shooting Ben, and to all the class winners. And also as Bobby said above, thanks much to Larry and Mark for a great job overall setting up and running the show. BZ!!! It was well worth the 8 hour drive each way from San Diego.

Dang Bobby,

Your post names quite the Who's Who of Arizona airgunning; making it quite a teaser for the match report. The two worker bees you mention come as no surprise, being the conscientious and hard-working individuals they be.

We look forward to the report, but understand the need for Powers That Be to recover from such a demanding weekend event as you describe. I'd be laid out for a week!

Thanks Bobby for posting this. I am still working on scores and stats using soggy score cards. I am still soggy, the targets, strings, clamps, and blocks are still soaked but drying out at the conex at BASF. My little SUV is now fixed (which took all day), and the inside is still soggy.

The report will get worked on tomorrow and Wednesday, IF my wife lets me. (You know why).

The website is giving me fits here of late, so the report may be typed here directly. We'll see. Please be patient; it is being worked on. the pictures look good from Saturday and a bit soggy from Sunday. That was a lot of rain, but fortunately no thunder or lightning. Lotsa mud too. I am finding mud in places I didn't think of.

And while we are busy thanking people, Bobby weed-whacked all of the sight in course and quite a few of the target "lines". The grasses in the national forest, with all the rain we have had (each of the last 3 matches we got soaked), was at least a good 15" to 18" tall. Bobby and Larry each brought a weed whacker and I am extremely gratified that they did.

And we cannot forget Mary Ann and Scott for that fabulous pulled pork! They started smoking it at midnight Friday, and put it in the oven at 5:00am. I cannot remember ever having anything that tender. a Guinness would have gone real good with that, but......

Anyway, I will get the report done ASAP....with the emphasis on the "P".

Mark
