Are Leapers scopes junk?

IF you didn't need all the tacti-cool sthuff. An Aeon 8-32 or 10-40 would be a big step up over even a perfect SCP3-216AOIEW.

Junk or not? It depends on what you are going to use it for, mount it on and the size of your wallet.
Shooting beer cans in your backyard, hunting or competitive shooting all have different demands and requirements.
And if you have bought an inexpensive airgun you will probably be happy with an inexpensive riflescope, on the other hand if you have bought a high end competition rifle and want to begin shooting International Field Target competitions I think you should buy a specialized scope for that purpose.
My recommendation is that if it's possible have a look at and through the scope you're going to buy, the second best thing to do is have a look through some friends scopes, what's works good for me might not be the best for you.

I have had multiple Leapers scopes and they've all been excellent. I did have an issue with an imperfection in the lens in one unit. Leapers replaced it no questions asked within two weeks despite that I waited over a year to call it to their attention. Awesome customer service experience! I have no reason not to recommend them. Leapers are all I use.

I would tend to judge more on group size, reliability, and customer saticfaction than names.

I would agree, but it is a shame that the manufacturer does not think so.....as evidenced by the fact that they think a side wheel is important enough to incorporate into the name of those models.....an acronym which implies to innocent consumers that it is good enough to be used by SWAT teams.

Well with many things from China I guess there can be HUGE variations in quality. I have a 4X16 SWAT and 6X24 SWAT (etched glass reticle). They are both darn good scopes. The etched glass reticle is WAY better and I wouldn't buy anything but ever again.
