My sister had an opportunity through work to move to North Carolina, it’s somethings she’s always wanted, also bittersweet since she’ll obviously be leaving her family in Pennsylvania.. However, I saw this as another state to hunt in with free room & board 😁  I was just curious if any one from North Carolina knows for sure. I perused the Game Digest but couldn’t find anything that stated you “couldn’t” and nothing also saying you “could”.

Either way I’ll still be trying my luck in NC at some point, but I’ll be slightly more motivated if I can use a air rifle😊

Hopefully we do have some NC airgun hunters here.  But no matter what DO contact whomever is in charge of hunting regulations personally, and, do ask for law #’s and print them out.

In NC there are a lot of airgun hunting allowed. GTA has a chart that shows species, and state by state rules for each. In general NC is a very friendly hunting- shooting state. Their enforcement presence is always on going whether hunting or fishing. They manage their natural resources pretty well. A search NC DNR should give additional info.

thanks guys, I thought I’ve seen some others that were hunting in NC, but wanted to be sure. spysir, that websites nice, looks to be similar to where I was looking, but I was looking at a pdf of their 2014-2015 regs. I’ll definitely contact the proper authorities prior to any hunting.

This is has me super excited!! Hurry up and move sis!!

I shoot plenty Dove in my NC county (Catawba). It does not say airguns are allowed, but as enforcement people tell me it does not say I cannot use my air rifle. If anything new is stated against this I have not seen it. I love using my air rifle to take doves.

I’m from NC and killed a whitetail with the new Pioneer Airbow over Thanksgiving on a hunt with a regional widlife commissioner. The head of wildlife approved it years ago in a phone call: bear, whitetail, hogs.

Appreciate the feedback Chip, that’s exactly what I was hoping for. I’d love to take a hog there!  Wouldn’t mind a whitetail either, but we have plenty of those in PA.

    Hi
North Carolina in not real AG hunting friendly state. You can hunt a few thing but laws need to be changed here. If you go to Crosman website they have a chart (though hard to read)(State-by-State Hunting Chart) that will tell you what you can hunt. I called Wildlife and they said basically no hunting of anything worth hunting with AG, I live in Carteret county. At the wildlife site they have the seasons listed for what game. I would call to verify but this is what I found out this year.

I have seen nothing in the 2018 -19 hunting regulations that say you can’t hunt with them. But it could be a grey area.

You're answering to a 3 year old question.

Be leary of the crosman site in regards to the game you can take. People have said there are lots of errors in that list.

It is legal in N.C. to hunt using air rifles. I have small game hunted in WNC for about 8 yrs on state lands. Have ran into several DNR officials and they are usually very curious to what rifle I’m carrying at the time. As far as large game I’m not entirely sure what is allowed and isn’t as I don’t hunt large game.
