Has anyone found a high quality grip for the FX Impact or know of a place that sells custom AR grips? I'm thinking a nice contoured grip in wood would like nice and feel better than the stock plastic grip that it comes with.

Yes, I purchased one from this site - GRIPS4u.net (http://www.grips4u.net/product/ar-15-tactical-grip-stippled/ ) that is quite nice for $79.00 + shipping. Requires some minor adjustment to achieve custom fit and a longer screw than the one provided by FX is recommended. Looks & Feels incredible. Highly recommended.

Dpms had a nice wood Psg1 style grip and ergo has a cool tactical model also.both with the palm shelfs.

The top of the grip (inside where it comes in contact with the gun) and the area around the safety require a small amount of material removal , easily accomplished with a flat file and some patience. Resist the temptation to work too quickly and remove too much material...patience will pay off. The exterior of the grip is comfortable for a medium sized right hand and is nicely finished & stippled in all the right places. The end result is well worth the expense & effort.

Great, thank you. Sounds easy enough eh. I don't mind doing a little sanding/shaving to make it fit as long as I'm not messing with material that would be visible on the outside. Do you happen to have a picture of your grip installed?

Sorry, no photos yet. No external modifications of the grip were necessary (I removed some of the inside wood in the proximity of the safety so it would operate smoothly but you could easily "reshape" that area if you wish).
