April May Backyard Hunting FX Royale 500

The few ground squirrels taken were in Montana. The rest of the pests were in my backyard.
I was trying to use up the MKII tins I had since in the past they were
spiraling in the wind and only moving around 803fps, I was only using them for close range shots, ended up taking some 100+ yard shots and noticed in the slomo the MKIIs were flying nicely now in the wind. Ended up running them over the chrono again and now they are averaging 811fps. The extra gain in fps made quite a big difference. Don't know why the increase in fps, I have done nothing to the rifle other than shoot it. I did run the 25gr over the chrono also, they are shooting a few fps slower but no significant change. Now I'm rethinking sticking with the MKIIs.

Great shooting JT. Looks like you got the wind doping and the hold over down pretty good. The PD's had a good crop of young ones here so I got the fever now. Took my 17hmr down the road to my local spot expecting not to see much but I was pleasantly surprised. The next trip will be with my 500 and some mk1's. I'm shooting mine around 860fps and they are doing really well. Now if the wind will go away.
