Apache Gun Case (Harbor Freight)

I'm curious how the quality and strength compares to the Pelican. 
Mostly concerned with airline baggage handling and making sure my rig gets from point A to point B in one piece. 

Anybody have experience with both to compare? 

I’ve seen both and IMHO the HF case is every bit as solid as the Pelican case.

If the Harbor Freight case is truly comparable to Pelican, one option would be to buy the nice dense foam on Amazon for use with the HF case.

I have Pelican rifle cases and HF pistol cases (no rifle cases from HF yet). If the pistol cases are any indication then they compare very well to the Pelican and will be what I purchase in the future.

What am I missing? The case is still listed at Harbor Freight for $149, not $99.

Amazon seems to fluctuate the price regularly to $99. It is heavy and well made, I think it would hold up fine with gorilla baggage handlers.

I bought one of these on sale for $100 and it is a good case. Fit FX Impact and Texan SS but had to remove the scopes on an airliner last hunting trip. The pluck foam made it easy to modify. Have a few of the same series small cases for electronic equipment that gets shipped UPS/FEDEX a lot and they hols up well.

Only problem I had was the pressure relief valve got stuck the 1st time and when I picked up by baggage the pressure had crushed the case. Plastic sprang back into shape once the case was opened and is still OK. Might suggest opening and closing the valve a few times before you fly.

You Tube has some video comparing the two. The Pelican is a better case but I bought an Apache with a 25% off coupon which they should offer usually the day after Thanksgiving. I think they are quite a solid case.

Do you think the folks from this discussion make a custom cut out for the Apache?
