Omega Super Charger Received - Used/Refurbished?

I just received my new Omega Super Charger air compressor from Airguns of Arizona and I am concerned I received a used/and or refurbished unit. I paid full price for this unit. I received the Omega unit with 6.5 hours on the meter and a ROCK wedged inside the air supply fill hose's female foster fitting! The hose was in the shipping container sitting loose on top of the compressor with its seal already mounted on its male threads. The owner's manual had a fine coating of dust on it.

Fellow forum members, when you received your Omega Super Charger:

1. What was the meter reading on it?
2. Where was the fill hose and seal located in the shipping container?
3. Did your unit show any signs that it had been previously used?

I want to hear from you about the condition of your Omega Super Charger when you received it before I contact AoA and Raptor Pneumatics.

Thanks for your help. Bob

Mine is 4.7 on the hour meter. Now I did not buy from AOA. I bought from Precision Airguns as shipping this monster from Az did not appeal to me. P A is in mich and I am in Ohio and shipping was still $53.35. AOA makes a point of test fireing and inspecting guns before they ship. Did they test your compressor before shipping? I dont know but i have an Omega that has not been pluged in yet so I looked. I hope this helps.

SS: Thank you for your information on your new Omega unit. I wonder where your fill hose and seal were located in the shipping container, and what was their condition. I was shocked to see a rock wedged inside my unit's fill hose's female foster fitting. I had to carefully dig the rock out of the fitting. This info along with other AGN forum members' feedback will help me determine if my received unit was used and/or refurbished.

It seems like 6 hours is quite a lot of testing, I would contact AOA and ask them about it, I could understand getting one with an hour of run time to make sure everything is working correctly but 6 hours seems a bit much. I might be more concerned about the way it was packaged though, with a rock wedged inside something that would give cause for concern, check with AOA and ask them, good luck, Neil.

TedMine had a few hours on the meter (I surmised it was from testing), and also had a bit of dust on the documentation and unit itself. My hose was also loose, and needed to be installed. So - the only question mark is that pebble in the foster fitting. No idea how to explain that one.

Thanks Ted. Yeah, the rock in the fitting didn't make sense. It was really tightly inserted in there. If someone had the unit and was disgruntled, I guess shoving a rock into the fitting before sending it back would make a statement. That (plus the 6.5 hours on the meter) was what made me think it may have been used or refurbished. Bob

Thanks Neil. I thought 6.5 hours was high as well. And I've been wondering if the grease was inserted into the system after 4 hours of run time, as called for in the instructions. I turned the grease screw 1/2 turn when I saw the 6.5 hours on the meter, just to make sure there was some in the system. Bob

loafr98I rec'd mine with 2.3 hours on the meter. Hose was packed loose, there was a paper tab on outlet fitting. All other parts were packaged nicely. AOA tests them before shipping. It was extremely well packaged for shipping, I am very satisfied with mine.

Thanks loafr. I haven't spoken with AoA yet about this. I wanted to hear from other owners about the condition of their units when received before making a call. Bob

hvackGot mine from aoa. it had 13 hours on it and a broken water pump. A lot of things I have bought from them have had some kind of damage when they arrived. Leaking new guns ect...

whoah! hvack I'm sorry to hear that. That surprises me. I'm wondering if the damage you described is from the carrier in your neck of the woods, improper manufacturer/shipper handling, packaging or what? Bob

"hvack"It more than likely happen while aoa was using /testing it, because you could see were it had been leaking for a while cause the screw directly underneath of it was rusted like it had taken some time for that amount of rust.
