anyone wanna give this a go with their nice PCPs?

This video makes me want to get a smooth twist barrel and cut a couple inches off the muzzle end to eliminate the rifling and shoot some pellets forwards and backwards.... :) Talk about a hollow point that would dump all its energy on impact rather than making a pass through! This is it! I guess I could try shooting some 34's at the range with the air stripper and Huggett removed from my Wildcat and see what kind of accuracy I get at 25 & 50 yards... The pellets shot from the smooth bore with no rifling at all were the most stable though, so not very high hopes for what my results are going to be.

Venturing into “I may not know what I’m talking about” Territory here, but, here are a couple of thoughts.

I’m wondering if the speed being used by them is a factor? We all have seen a particular pellet perform better at a different speed from a particular gun or other.

Could a viable test be conducted using a multi pump bb/pellet rifle, do they not have smooth bore? If so, this would eliminate the cutting of an expensive barrel just for the sake of an experiment?

Absolutely agree. They do not mention velocities. Only thing they mention is smooth bore barrel, no choke, no rifling. This is interesting because we in the airgun world know never to put a pellet in backwards and even warned by numerous manufacturers not to do so.

The potential of this is pretty insane in regards to hunting. A backwards pellet that is stabilized, hitting your intended target with such a open contact area and dumping all that energy is devastating.

Just wondering..... —

We all want "devastating" and "dump all its energy" and all that. Me, too! Of course!

So, WHY doesn't any pellet maker give us THAT KIND of a pellet (say, for short range ratting*)?

(I mean, the willing buyers are just waiting to gobble it up, why not sell it to them?)

*Here're are my suggested trade names (H&N, Crosman, Predator, you can use any of them, just send me a couple dozen tins of your creation, OK?):

—Rat Puncher

—Thwackkk'er

—Hole Puncher
