Anyone using one of the newer Hawke Airmax SF 8-32 x 50 scopes?

I have an Optisan Viper 8-32 x 60 scope that is going to be replaced under warranty by a very fine and upstanding dealer. Unfortunately the scope I have has been discontinued by Optisan and the maximum magnification they offer now is 24x. This superb dealer has more than graciously offered to replace the scope with the Hawke Airmax SF 8-32. I've owned a few Hawke Sidewinders over the years, but I have no experience with the new Airmax. I'd appreciate hearing from any of you that are using the new Hawke.

I also have the option of paying the difference to upgrade to the Sightron 10-50 x 60. Did I mention the dealer is really awesome

If I had time to shoot alot, I would upgrade to the Sightron without much thought but the truth is I have probably put less than two tins of pellets through this gun since I bought it.

I primarily use this gun for bench shooting out to 100 yards.

Thanks in advance for your input!

Best regards,

Tracy

I bought the Hawke Sport Optics Airmax 30m 8-32×50 SF AMX Illuminate Reticle Rifle Scope (1/4 MOA)

After shooting through it I decided to upgrade to a Nikko Diamond Sterling 10-50x60 Sportsman. I found the Hawke to be a good scope, but the optics in the Nikko were much better. Also preferred the easier to rotate turrets and more positive clicking into position on the Nikko. Sidewheel and magnification on the Nikko were smoother too.

If you wanted to purchase the Hawke from me used and try it I'd do $375. You could mount it, try it, and if you didn't like it probably resell it for that same amount.

I also purchased the Nikko Sterling 10-50x60 Targetmaster (same price range as the Hawke). That's also for sale if you want to try that instead. For me, I just prefer the higher end scopes and like the Nikko 1/8 MOA adjustment over other scopes 1/4 MOA.
