anyone use a "scout scope".

Used a Burris 2 x 7 scout scope on a Marlin 1895 45/70 for a while. I really liked the setup and had no problem getting on target. You must keep both eyes open is the key. I needed it on the 45/70 as I loaded it pretty hot for large critters and didn’t want to get scoped as they call it. Got a bear and an empala both on the run with it.

Not on an air gun but I have them on two powder burners. I like them. I can get very quick target acquisition and I can carry the rifle at its center of balance without the scope getting in the way. These are fixed 2x pistol scopes mounted on a Sweedish Mauser M-96 in 6.5x55mm and a Marlin Glenfield 30-30.

The Mauser scope is a Japanese made Tasco and the one on the Marlin is a Burris. The Marlin has quick detach mounts so I can pop the scope off and use the receiver sight if necessary.

Not on an airgun, but on some hard fast kicking powder burners. a Marlin 1895 Guide gun 45-70, and Ruger #1's in 375H&H and 458 Win Mag.

That's an interesting idea to have a scout scope on a Ruger #1. Normally the scope has to be mounted a bit high so you can get the round into the chamber but the scope would not be in the way with the scout set up.
