Anyone shot H&N silver point .25?

I bought a few tins of them and tried them out at the range today. Wow are they ever terrible out of a smooth twist barrel, I could hear them zing and zang and probably a difference of anywhere between half an inch and a foot at 25m and at 50m they are more accurately thrown.

I blasted 200 of them just to get rid of them, note to self when trying out pellets get a small amount at a time haha. 400 to go, they are 24.39 so I thought maybe they would be similar to the diablo shaped ones. Wrong I was, they do seem lighter than what they say because they are mostly hollow from the back.

They fit snugly in my Benjamin Trail NP XL725's breech. You had to push them in good & straight or they wouldn't go in very easily, if at all. I got this six shot group;
1) 663/23.80
2) 677/24.82
3) 668/24.16
4) 672/24.45
5) 667/24.09
6) 669/24.43
AVG- 669.33FPS
StdDev- 4.76
Spread 14
Hope these tell something. I haven't targeted them yet, as we can't legally shoot outside around here and the local 25yd range is $15.99 each per day with only 9 lanes.

Wow,we've all been there, buying a ton of pellets and they end up shooting terrible out of ALL your guns! Lol. My hatsan edge .25 I've tuned,(vortek seal, buttoned piston, moly tune, polished, trigger mod,ECT) shoots the silver points the best,10shot strings AVG 592 with an ES of 9,they group about 3/4 inch ctc at 30yards for me,no other .25 pellet shoots as well out of my edge, crow mags are 2nd best at 2 inch at 30 and all other pellets are all over the place. Pointed pellets seem to do well at lower velocity for me,and they penetrate a 1/8" thick leather strip and 4" into Ballistic Gel too, domed pellets don't even penetrate that well with leather over gel.

Funny that I am reading this thread today. At lunch I shot 10 different brands through my .25 Mrod. I was testing for accuracy at 25 yards and over the Crony. I have yet to find any thing that beats the JSBs. One of the pellets was the 24.38 Silver Point. I circled this test and labeled it S$!#. I got and avg fps of 889 and 42.77 lbs. Not bad. But the group was high, low, left, right and over 3". Every other pellet tested could be covered with a nickel. The next worst out of my rifle was the 31.0 Grizzly at 844 fps and 49lbs. But they could be covered with the nickel too.

I was out this morning setting up a feeder in the woods and I still have those two tins staring me in the face so I brought one out. I didn't expect much action as I had just set it up and sat about 20 yards in a chair with my tripod and thought I'd try a magazine of the silver points. Within a close range they're actually definitely accurate enough for hunting, I actually did some longer shots as well and it was decent. Ended up shooting probably 60-80 of them and it wasn't half bad.

Nothing I'll bring to the range again but should be good once I bring the blind and set up reasonably close to slay some tree rats. Not as bad as I first though but you can still hear them zing they just don't have the chance to deviate much in that distance haha.

The Royale shoots the H&N Hunter extremes as good as JSB 25.4's.

These are the only pellets I could find that are 25 caliber at big five. Been shooting them out of a kral arms puncher jumbo. And I have to tell you at around 50 yards I'm getting about a foot spread. All over the place. I thought there was something wrong with my gun. I mean how bad could the parents be? they seem symmetrical. Maybe it's the shape it catches the air or something but they are absolutely horrible. I think a domed pellet would be most accurate because it would not veer a certain direction depending on its angle. Just my 2 cents don't know if I'm correct as to the reason. Let me add that I did shoot them in my house at about 30 ft and they were very accurate at that distance but that's about it..
