Anyone shooting 22 cal CPHP in the FX Wildcat or Impact with any accuracy ?

it is a tossup between the wildcat or Impact for me, but leaning toward the Impact, I have over 6000 CPHP pellets , & with the price drop at W/mart to $6.47 for 500 & being it is the best 22 cal available in my area (Illinois) most places only have 177.. without ordering & paying shipping, I would rather stick with the cphp, I do really like long distance shots on starling & blackbirds, so I am looking for any info I can get, BTW I have watched vids on both guns till my eyes hurt, & have not seen anyone using them, thanks in advance, roger

"AZBOBCAT"The Crossman give decent accuracy out of ST barrels but if you are going to buy a Ferrari why would you want to run regular unleaded in it? Burn through those shooting backyard distances and get some JSB 18's for your hunting.
One thing we always stress on the forums is find the "best" pellet for "your" gun. All guns are different. Some people find even Gamo pellets work well for them. It doesn't matter what you use, but it has to be the one that gives you the best "accuracy" for your intended purposes. And not all guns like JSB's. Maybe you can invest in a sampler pack of different pellets to give you an idea of what works for you.

You mean someone really has a ST barrel that shoots better with something other than JSB or rebranded JSB.....I would like to get one of those. I would love to shoot some other pellets. But out of maybe 10 different types I have been nothing but disappointed. I really like the H&N pellets for hunting but they don't come close to the boring accurate JSB 13-18 grn pellets only the 25 grn JSB shoots bad like the rest in mine. In all fairness most will group ok within 30yds but after 50yds is what I look for in accuracy.

ok ,thanks guys , first of all , I don't hunt anymore ( since more than 40 yrs ago ,I don't have time anymore ) second , I understand that jsb's or whatever other pellets are best, but as stated I wanted to know if anyone had any kind of accuracy with Cphp, I do not want to order jsb or any other brands, & just use what I can pickup locally, Cphp work really well with the 3 A/force Talon's that I have , & the 5 different P-Rods ( 1 stock , other 4 are modified) , so my question was if anyone has had any success with the crosman's, I am not trying to ruffle any feathers, or come off as a smarta$$ to anyone here, I am seriously trying to decide on a W/Cat, Impact,, & if they do not shoot cphp with any kind of decent accuracy , then I wont buy any of them, thanks for the replys, roger

As I don't have an FX in .22 i can't speak to that point. But I do have an FX Royale 400 in .177 and it doesn't like the the JSB's as well as it likes the H&N Baracuda's. Even at 30 yards there is a marked difference. But at 50 yards things really open up with the JSB's. Ramjet66 it is not as simple as asking someone else if their rifle shoots well with a certain pellet. Yes, most guns shoot JSB's well. But you will have to find what works for you.

Accuracy is an individual thing. Some people want one hole groups at 50 yards and beyond. Some people are happy with 1 inch or two inch groups at those distances. There are a lot of factors which come into play. In AEAC's latest video he shows how technique can wreak havoc on your groups. I often compare shooting guns to playing golf. You can play the same course everyday for a week and never get the same score because so many variables can change.

Don't let the fact that "your" particular" gun might not shoot Crosman's well as someone else's be a determining factor. I can say that out of the four "high" end guns I have, only one shoots JSB's well. And it's not an FX.

21 grn barracuda match in 5.51 shoot really good in my bobcat as well

the crossmans are "minute of dove" out to 116 , if you know how your gun shoots them.

shot and English sparrow this morning at 76 yards
so they are minute of sparrow as well ha

groups at 10 yds and 35 yards are excellent do they group as good at 50 or 100 on paper as jsb's
no but not horrible actually not bad at all

they actually make me laugh when u can hit the ole soup can over and over and over at 100 , it's so much fun ! And that my friends is what it's all about

thanks for the reply's guys, I just ordered(yesterday/ Friday) a 22 cal WildCat from R&L & a couple of tin of JSB's (18's, I will use my 6000+ cphp's with my P-rods & Talons, but will try them in the W/C to see for myself, I really wanted the Impact, but don't have the patience to wait for them, anyways , fed x is supposed to be here Wed the 10th , hopefully there will be some blackbirds & starlings around for targets..
