Here was my last windy weekend.
...Spent time Saturday having fun testing the new JSB Knock Out MKII in both .25 and .22 along with the original KO's as well. Since the wind was a consistent 7-20mph for the testing I limited my range to 51 yards.
Started with my new to me M3 .25 in the early morning, first time I have had it out of the workshop. Shot it as I received it tuned from the seller with the KO MKII. Nothing to write home about at this point, sorry. A 3 out of 10 Is the best I would say with this tune. Not sure what it was tuned for. Back in the case and to the workshop for some major goings over. Share something worthwhile next time when.
Out came the MKII 700mm, now converted to .22 from .25, ready to test the new JSB KO MKII’s. It was as I said, a windy day that escalated upwards to 20mph as it approached noon and diminished to 3-5 about 1pm when I left, of course. I shot the best I could under the circumstances, being pretty surprised at how well the new KO MKII shot in the wind at 51yds with a .25 caliber tune out of a .22 700mm. Each 5 shot group was straight from the tin with no waste shots (was one) to set the valve. First 5 shot group with the MKII's had a poi 4" @ 7:00 that wasn't on target. Just the nature of the Impact MKII and M3 as we know.
Was all in good fun and to give me a baseline. Here is what I have to share.
The MKII tune was: Hammer wheel was set to 9 on my new Mont 19 detent PW (awesome addition!). Hammer spring is adjusted to no play which is 14.13mm depth on Max. Valve adjuster set to 4 bars. Reg is set to 138bar. Standard FX probe has been modified to ½ moon for air flow. Barrel index is @ 3:30. Shooting @921FPS with both slugs. I think the KO MKII have a lot of potential here. Very impressed so far, but nothing special from me here.
