Anyone ordered a taipan mutant?

"Bizill"Beware. You're gonna have LOTS of work to do when it arrives. What I mean by that is you're gonna have lots of yard work to do as the chores build up bcause you'll be spending all your time playing with a near-flawless airgun as you neglect everything else that needs attention.
Anticipation is killing me. Heck I'm looking on FedEx site to see where my package is😳

I have the Taipan Mutant standard .22 and that's my goto gun. You're gonna love it. I'm guessing you're getting the veteran (2nd generation) mutant which has a feature that I would love to have where the mag won't double feed a pellet. My Veteran .25 has it and it's GREAT! The CZ barrel is great, too. It set a new standard (pun intended) for me as far as PCP rifles are concerned.

Acquired my Veteran slightly used from a forum member.
I too have a Taipan Veteran Standard .22. I also have a WildCat .22.
My friends who are perhaps what one would call PB experts, think the WC is better - they like the tac look, the lightness, the grip, etc. better.
But every time I shoot the Veteran, I'm hitting the critter 85% of the time. Granted, when I go back to the WC it takes a few shots to get used to that mushy trigger. I like the light weight of the WC. But I love the Veteran trigger, accuracy and stock quietness. Much quieter even without an add on moderator than the WC. Neither are loud loud, but stock the Taipan is quieter, with a moderator, even more so.
The shot number I get from the Taipan is great.
I figure I'll keep shooting both, but when I want to be sure, I take the Taipan. I will say this, the smooth twist of the Fx hurls non-lead Barracuda Greens with good accuracy out to 50 yards. The Taipan doesn't like unleaded.
I really wish the ammo makers would tackle the move to unleaded seriously and with good long range results. Most unleaded are really light.
I love the no-double feed function of the Taipan Veteran as well. However, the Fx has a feature that helps one NOT double feed. If the gun is charged/cocked the safety can be moved to safe. If it's not, the selector won't move from fire beyond the halfway mark to safe. An easy way to do a quick check - did I charge it and cock it or is the chamber empty.
