Anyone hunt at night using a break barrel?

Hey mate. I have done a fair bit of night hunting pigeons and hares with my HW77K SE. I just used a couple of double clamps on top of the scope. One thing to be aware of is that your zero will be completely different with a torch on top. I'm talking like 3 or more inches different at 30 metres for mine. It was a fairly heavy torch though. Due to the extra weight changing the momentum and harmonics of the rifle. Just something to be aware of.

These little $1.00 hat lights from Walmart not only clip to hats, they also clip WONDERFULLY to scope objective rims. And give the perfect amount of light for shots out to 30 yards. I loop a rubber band around the front and over the elevation turret so the recoil from my break barrel doesn't knock it off. Try it, and I guarantee you'll beat feet back to WM to buy about 20 of them.

I used to spot with flashlight then transfer the light to bottom of the stock and it would sit in the cradle/cut out of the break barrel held by my off hand for a normal shooting position. I would spook some with all the fumbling but this was a simple setup that worked well. I did this for some time and would use the metal on the flashlights clip to make tap tap tap spunds to stir the rats up. I haven’t used my springers since going to pcp and the move was spurred by me wanting to use a scope.

That bolt pattern that holds the upper and lower together are the same as utg bug buster mounts. I only use one on the front mount. Scope was already mounted, I just swapped the top half out. I use a Bushnell flashlight that has the reg white light, red light, and a UV for tracking blood trails at night, or illuminating scorpions
