Anyone have the Hatsan Lightning compressor?

With price and quality being equivalent between the AV and Hatsan (and Tuxing), since they are essentially the same compressor mechanically and electrically, the better value would appear to be the Hatsan. Although, like I've said previously, the $1895 (open box, like new with factory warranty) Daystate 110vac from AoA, and the Alpha Carette from Joe B seem to be the best deals, quality, reliability, and value on a personal HP air compressor.
If you are mechanically inclined, and have a place to work and some basic tools, you can purchase a two cylinder Tuxing, do the modifications I recommend in my post, and end up with an equivalent compressor for approx. $800 total. And that includes the "gold" filter/dryer with the 13X Zeolite molecular sieve. Mine has worked great since December 2017. I have done approx. 20 "top offs" from about 3200 to 4500 psi on 88 cubic foot CF tanks, yet, since its so fast, still have less than 5 hours run time.

Is the gold filter the typical filter we see everywhere or is it somehow different. I see them on them on the hatsan site but no real info. Are theze quick connect or permenant i line filters. Looking forward to.the vid.

Thanks... Are there cooling coils like that between the first and second stage also? Can you post close up pics like this of the other 3 sides?
From what I remember, the "gold" filter on the Hatsan has a cotton tampon type filter inside. And then they advertise another part with dessicant, but its that outlet block to the left of the golden colored filter, which hold at least 15 to 20 silica dessicant beads. Not enough to make a difference. My Tuxing has that same outlet block and when I opened it up, the silica beads were wet and the insides were already starting to rust. Replaced the silica beads with small cotton tampon filter, much better. I'd still recommend using the "after market gold" filter with this Hatsan for moisture removal.

Sorry, didn't see your post till I got home. Just the one coil. I agree with the desicant not lasting lone. The frequent auto drain on this compressor should be pretty effective.

I got the alert as well. I had been saving and waiting for this unit for a while. It is really rich with features. But it is a souped up Tuxing TXED013. Which is $569.00 PP freight. I already had bought the gold separator need to buy the tampons and beads. Centercut for the most part replicated the Lightning with the exception of adjustable purge and hour meter I think. The Lightning is $1339.00, AGAIN Hatsan resets the bar! Impressive to say the least. But I'm buying the Tux. I have one gun right now and two 60 minute tanks that are good for four tins or so in my .25 Crown. So I won't work it to hard. If Centercuts takes a poop? I am sure he will post the fix which I will save and send him a gift! LOL

Well, I did add an hour meter on mine. When it vibrates the meter counts. Similar to this one.

But mine doesn’t have an auto purge. One thing I think is a bit misleading about the Hatsan is the “dryer” section. It’s the same as the outlet block on the tuxing and Is worthless. There is less than one cubic inch of space for desiccant. So a “gold” filter is still required. The Hatsan does have a good size cotton tampon filter similar to the AV.
