Anyone have a RWS 460 Magnum in 22 Cal.?

I was looking at the Velocity rating on this one and wondering if it is reliable and accurate ? It shows a higher velocity than the 54 Air King but sometimes more is less . There could be trade offs more velocity and more twang and maybe less accuracy . Which I could just buy them all and see which one is the right one but hey , I am not rich, just an average Joe !

I have a T-05, ‘08 or ‘09 model. Mine was out of the box at 100 feet, very accurate. I have no clue as to actual speed, but misses at 100 feet, were blowing nice strips out of the back of a weather treated fence picket. I wanted the most powerful .22 spring gun available at the time, and research led me to the 460mag. I haven’t had a single issue, although I haven’t shot it that much because it’s so powerful. I bought it to kill some pests we had around the neighborhood back then.

Velocity is directly tied to the pellets weight .... so one must look more at WHAT THE POWER is based upon a specific weight pellet at what speed it exits muzzle.

That being the only real constant .......

Diana 48-52-54-56 series magnum springers all use the same basic power plant with them in .177 producing generally @ 18-20 ft-lb, while the .22's typically @ 20-22 ft-lbs.

As with all things mechanical those figures will be higher as well lower for some owners. Springs differ slightly, seal fit too along with barrel bore inconsistencies and the pellets shot threw them.

...mine shot 880 fps with 14.3's , could get 1/2" groups at 50 yards from a bench...and it was well balanced - reminded me of a 30-30 winch... the cocking and loading arrangement seemed foreign to me , but i'm a break-barrel guy... i had a 470th , too it shot a little hooter, and a little better.... but i have tried most all of these dianas - - i was fortunate enough to be able to call umarex and talk to fellow named glenn seiter....he was cool - he would go out into the warehouse , and look thru the demos and returns or refurbs....come back to his desk and tell me about it .. SO COOL.....back in the day , back in the day.... they now let the online retailers sell those.... they were all "R" stamped guns , but some had never even been shot...like the .22 350 pro-com , and the .25 48 black pros.... but yeah , just odd loading those 460's but i'm not an underlever guy (but i have a 430L new in my closet when i get time , i will probably get used to ul's) - especially if the scope hangs over the loading area.....and i cant recall mine being super hard to cock....probably about the same as these diana 430L's , which are a little hard to cock, but not as bad as a regular 430.... .cheers.. - paul.
