On my journey being new to air.guns I bought a Airforce texan 50 cal .and have been casting and shooting it for a close to a year. Shooting my gun tethered I couldn't get to to shoot better than 3 in groups at 100 yards with a.few different cast slugs. After watching Elvis ammo on youtube on powder coating and the benefits of I decided to give it a try. Any ways if my barrel it was.a night and day difference. My groups .tightened up and it became consistency accurate. I was using lee liquid alox before. Having sticky bullets that gather dirt and dust are not ideal for.when hunting. I didn't like.the idea of. handling the lead all. time .either. I just wanted to see if anyone else had positive experiences powder coating their slugs?
Anyone else powder coating their air gun slugs?

Lead wise I wear gloves when I have to intensively make contact with the metal.

I think the coating provides a Barrier between the lead and barrel and reduce fouling. If I had a premium lapped barrel I'm sure the improvement wouldn't of been as much. I think in factory barrels that might have tooling marks and rough spots in the bore that powder coat worth a try before buying another barrel or gun.

I gave it a try, but didn't get the good results you did. If anything, the groups opened up at 100 yards. I tried a variety of coating thicknesses and concluded that my .22 Veteran preferred uncoated slugs.
